The rest of the league, bar the north east clubs and villa are all decent squads so Liverpool are further away than you think IMO.
I also think once a players decided they don't care anymore, even a change of manager makes it hard to turn around.
Liverpool's players genuinely don't care.
Liverpool's squad has the most balance and depth out of all the teams outside of United, Chelsea and City. They need just one more decent defensive midfielder and a CB, but that's still better than most others imo.
Regarding the players - agree that Rodgers has lost the dressing room, but what happens depends on the manager who comes in. Carrick & Smalling are 2 good example from Moyes to Van Gaal.
