Liverpool's squad has the most balance and depth out of all the teams outside of United, Chelsea and City. They need just one more decent defensive midfielder and a CB, but that's still better than most others imo.

Regarding the players - agree that Rodgers has lost the dressing room, but what happens depends on the manager who comes in. Carrick & Smalling are 2 good example from Moyes to Van Gaal.

You do. That's not what I am getting at. I seriously doubt you would get relegated but I was stressing a point of how bad, from the outside anyway, its got.

Newcastle were an example because they would never have been chosen as a relegation candidate. It happened though and it did so because of poor management and ownership. They didn't have a bad squad at all and certainly far better than any side around them but they had no confidence, belief or desire. Without it. No matter how good you are, you can quickly find yourself in trouble.

We dropped from 1st to 7th in a year, yourselves from 2nd to 6th. A similar drop and suddenly your right amongst them..once you pass a certain point you can easily get dragged in.

Newcastle had been competing for the title not to many years before as well.

As i said, it won't happen but your clubs in a state right now.

Their squad isn't impressive for me. Theres not a single quality defender, their midfielders.... ERM..... Henderson at a push.

Benteke is a great striker to be fair and Ings isn't to bad when he's in the mood. Their star player is Coutinho who IMO is overrated big time, he's scored some crackers but I've seen little else. I have to admit I've not seen an awful lot of him though.

    Them there's Firmino.
£30m, barely play's and seemingly does nothing. Not sure where the fuss has come from with this one. Kagawa was a better player.

Its really not impressive mate. Better than Spurs, Saints, Swansea, Everton? Perhaps. Better than them if the side has no confidence? I don't think so.

Edit - anyone know how to reset or edit an android keyboard. Mine has decided that there will be auto corrected to their every time unless I correct it. It's a pain. I've just had to correct it up their... Ffs

  7. No idea as I don't watch none PL footy. Mascherano (as a DM) wouldn't be bad if he fancies a return. No idea for CB although I think Gomez and Sakho would be good enough so maybe a LB or winger instead.

<laugh> well much of that isn't surprising coming from you lol. But a better manager would have them fighting for top 4 this season. Especially with how average teams like Arsenal and Chelsea are looking with relatively decent managers. Agree that without confidence they look poor. But Coutinho, Henderson, Can, Milner, Clyne, Gomes, Sakho tbf, Ibe, Benteke just off the top of my head is the makings of a decent side before even looking at the subs bench. Regarding Firmino, jokes aside, it's far too early to write him off. With a better manager, who knows how good he really is?

I've seen too many teams change managers and instantly improve to give up hope of a decent season.

We're all in agreement we have at least a top 6 squad. The season is less than 8 games in.

Usually a new manager provides a two or three game boost where the players get rejuvenated and want to impress the new skipper. Before the Everton game would be nice timing.

After 2 or 3 weeks the "new manager" high leaves and it depends on the quality of the manager how well the squad does.

You know what, Masch wouldn't be the stupidest thing ever. He's got the connection but then these argies can be troublesome (not racist, argie twats, factual).

You actually went out and did this BTW, buying Milner was supposed to be your leader. The thing is, Milner was never a leader so it hasn't worked..the idea was sound though.

Yes they are decent but decent is fast becoming average across the league. You need more.

I forgot about Can though. A real quality player who will go on to big things.

It will be at Bayern Munich though.

TBF Masca is a DM not a CB by trade and played as a DM for us. Its Barcelona that have converted him because they can't be arsed to go buy a World Class CB and they don't want to drop Biscuits.

He's a CB now. Has been for years. Though he may play DM for Argentina.

Yeh he was a DM, but just bcos Barca decided to use him as a CB doesn't mean he isn't a bloody good one. And Barca wouldn't have put up with him taking over from Puyol unless he was bloody good. He'd easily be your best CB if you got him back.

You had to be there pal. It was an epic fail, Diego misspelled consolation in the worst possible way and Biscin called him on of, jokingly of course...

Thing is. Biscin forgot how to type for his next 4 or 5 posts and it just got funnier. It had been quite a heated night before that bit he really got the <laugh>s out.

  20. I didn't think we were ever signing Milner as a leader. Obviously Brod had other ideas with him being VC <doh>
