Unfortunately I see us going for Gomez who I do not rate at all tbh. He's a proper poacher, he'd suit the likes of Spurs and United but no way would he suit us. We need a striker who has the ability to bring others into the game. All four goals today of his were pure class, I hope he doesn't go to Bayern.
If Lewandowski signs then Gomez is off. Mandzukic is very similar to RL and much the reason for Bayerns success this season. Greater workrate than Gomez and a more complete forward, very involved in the build up play, something Gomez hasn't been. I think RL and Mandzukic are to similar and if Gomez leaves it will lessen Bayern' options imo. Robben of 2012 would have been sold, Robben of 2013 will be kept if Pep needs him. Can not remember having seen such a change in style and workrate from a player of Robben's age. Remarkable is the only word I can put on it. Tymoschuk' contract is up and will leave. Luiz Gustave have been linked away and could leave, Arsenal a possible destination. In 17 year old Danish midfielder Pierre Emile Hojberg Bayern possibly possess the biggest midfield talent in Europe, alreadt set the record for youngest ever player to have played for Bayern. Kroos could be moulded in the Schweinsteiger role, leaving Goetze, Ribery, Muller, Shaqiri and Robben to fight it out for the three places behind the striker. Heynckes has adopted a rotation policy this season with great success, because of a stronger squad than in the past. None of the profiles will leave just because of Goetzes arrival, the signing fits into the rotation policy. The club will look for a new centre back to replace the ageing Van Buyten this summer. Boateng with to many brain freezes at defensive set pieces to be trusted. Needs strong competition for his place to remain focused. Badstuber coming back from injury will compete with signing of the season, Dante.
Excellent assesment, thanks for all the information. Wishing Bayern all the best in the CL, and I think I am safe in saying pass those sentiments on to your fellow Bayern fans. I am sure most Chelsea fans are with you.
Cheers After losing the title last season to Chelsea, at home. The respence from players and staff is what have impressed the most, was sure it would take at least one season to shake that defeat off. Great work from Heynckes, leaving some pretty big shoes for Guardiola to fill. The change of general manager shouldn't be taken for granted either. It was a tough decission for the club to "fire" former player and good friend of the club Nerlinger. But in hiring Mathias Sammer the club have gotten a winner with an eye for detail and an extreme winning mentality, never letting anyone around him lose focus at what's at hand.
Despite his quality I think I would trade over De Bruyne for lewandowski 18-20m was his fee and Dortmund bid 15m for De Bruyne Strikers win you games
