There was a time when I would have agreed with you, but he does seem to be bringing some balance to the squad.

Against Fulham, when Bale went off injured, we continued to look a threat. The idea that without Bale we are not capable of finishing top 4 is a myth, as we have a very strong squad of players, and probably the best English striker in the EPL, on current form. This is a 6-pointer for a top 4 finish, although I am banking on us wanting to clinch 3rd spot, and therefore having the greater incentive to win.

okay, so if we beat Stoke by 4 goals then we go into 3rd because Chelsea are in the CWC this week but just a win there would be a very good result. Defeat at Stoke means they'd be on level points with us, and go above us if they win by three goals.

other teams within three points are...

Sunday

13:30 Tottenham v Swansea
16:00 West Brom v West ham

Monday

20:00 Reading v Arsenal

Tottenham are level on points with 3 less on GD
West Brom are level on points with 4 less on GD
Arsenal are 2 points behind with 3 more on GD
Swansea are 3 points behind with 2 less on GD

Spurs v Swans - Draw
West Brom - Win
Arsenal - Win

I think we will bein 6th by Tuesday as I think we will draw against Stoke.

Tottenham and Swansea currently 0-0, don't a very exciting game but it's a good result so far for us. If Spurs win they go above us, anything else we stay fourth. Same goes for West Brom later.

Reading have only lost twice at home in the league Tottenham on the opening day and Man United so hopefully they make it difficult for Arsenal tomorrow.

There are six teams within three points of us going into this weekend with Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal slightly ahead whilst West Brom, Norwich and Stoke are on our tails.

3rd Chelsea 29pts GD - 11
4th Spurs 29pts GD - 5
5th Arsenal 27pts GD - 13
6th Everton 27pts GD - 7
7th West Brom 27pts GD - 3
8th Norwich 25pts GD - -6
9th Stoke 24pts GD - 2

Saturday

12:45 - Wigan v Arsenal
15:00 - Tottenham v Stoke
15:00 - West Brom v Norwich

Sunday

16:00 - Chelsea v Aston Villa

Perfect scenario:

Wigan Win
Stoke Win
West Brom/ Norwich draw
Villa Win

I think:

Arsenal Win
Spurs draw
West Brom win
Chelsea win

Arsenal - draw
Spurs - win
West Brom - win
Chelsea - win

Whatever happens I think we need to win at the hammers and at home to wigan to keep up there they are winnable games so we should do the business...
a draw with chelsea hopefully and a realistic target of 7 from 9 I reckon

I'm going for
Tottenham draw
West Brom defeat
Arsenal draw

we've got some nice fixtures there which is lucky considering who we've got.

If we win by 2 goals then we go third tomorrow? We will go fourth with a win hopefully West Brom lose and Arsenal don't win.
