Well what else is there to see?

In one paragraph you've claimed his advantage was a superior squad to everyone else and then in the same breath stated his greatest achievement was the treble with Porto and treble with Inter. That makes no sense. Do you actually read what you're posting?

What you're basically saying is that Mourinho has got himself sacked 3 times while winning **** loads of league titles and CLs during which time Wenger has got a new stadium and a good bank balance while winning **** all bar a couple of FA Cups. You're just another gullible gooner fella.

Dont get me wrong there are plenty who don't like Jose (justifiably so) but he's a winner. And while some may not want Jose as manager, there are many many more who wouldnt want a failure like Wenger.
You do know he was not sacked at either Porto or Inter, right?

The only clubs he was not sacked at..Most of his success came when he had a clear advantage over all his competition,Porto was an exception as was the champions league win from InterMilan so i highlighted them as his "Real" successes.

Where is the contradiction my friend? He is a good manager not a bad one but he does not have an edge over everyone else,he can build a squad from scratch and sustain it and move a club forward over the long term..if he changes...but a lot of his antics seem to be the same so i dont think he will get over any of the current top 4,winnong the europa is your best bet.

Can I just point out it wasn't THE treble with Porto? It was UEFA cup. The champions league was the following year.

Then he won a couple of league titles with Chelsea and the real treble with Inter.

So yeah, his record isn't that special. Diego Simeone's one league title and one europa league is far superior.
Would you believe it?

Taking a club like atletico and making them world beaters, transforming the club..It is 2 uefa cups by the way and one league title and 2 cl finals

So that will be 1 La liga and 2 champions league finals in 3 years to Mourinho's 1 la liga and 0 cl finals with a better first team, superior squad, more money and a bigger club..

If only those years count then Simeone has a better record.

I'll leave that with you.

You do seem very typical of most Arsenal fans though, where not actually winning something is deemed to be a success. CL finals? So ****ing what, he didn't win either.

Say what you like about Mourinho, he is very consistent when it comes to the top four tropheee. He either wins it or pisses off halfway through the season to make sure he's not there when the wheels come off.

Oh bollocks...

Ok,fair enough..end of the season we will see where jose is and if he is still the winner or he has deteriorated hence that many other coaches are better than him?

Absolutely. Nothing says "long term measure of quality" than the results of a single season.

Does that make LVG superior to Wenger as he actually won a trophy last year?

Sure keep him as long as you want,i can unserstand your point of view now,who cares how much he spends? You are the most resource rich club in the world and all you want is to back on top.

You've said a lot without saying anything at all. He's won **** loads, so what if he got sacked. Your manager has won **** all in the same period but not got sacked. I'm sure Mourinho is the happier man polishing his winners medals... while Wenger keeps your books in order.

Hope you and Wenger enjoyed counting the coffers tonight while going out to Souhthampton in yet another competition.

Indeed, why the **** would you want to win an actual competition when you've got 4th place and a shiny new stadium to aspire to?
Seriously why are you guys taking this out of context,i simply said jose is not as good as you guys think he is,t here are several factors that gave that illusion,no other challengers in his first stint at chelsea and he had the best squad in the world..he crashed in real and his second chelsea stint but he is still a worldclass manager as his porto and inter cl winning campaigns show..But not the very best or anything like that,if currently i could pick a manager hypothetically i would have Simione,Klopp,Pep,Allegri and Carlo all ahead of him.

I simply explained that the self restrain we showed was necessary to be able to spend a 100m a window from our own pocket likebwe did this summer window and for the whole of 14/15 season..and that was the reason why we were trophyless,no level playing field.

We have a history of playing youth or the second team in the league cup,but we wont mind losing it much its not a priority nome of Ozil,Sanchez,Koscielny and Cech were even on the bench..its a case of if we win it great or we dnt fine,it would have been far more hurtful had it been the fa cup..

Good luck to you jose seems to be turning it around and there seems to be good football as well..And calm the **** down please mancs,i hope i made what i meant clear.

No forum is active much nowadays, this is one of the best and definitely the best as far as footballing forums go,i came here to enjoy discussions and have a little banter and im very pleased, the members are top notch, active no stereotypical opinions, its alive..Peace out guys.

I thought you were waiting till the end of the season to judge Jose, you couldn't even make it to the end of the week! <laugh>

And I'm pretty sure none of us has said Jose is the very best - unlike you we actually are going to give him till the end of the season before making a final judgement.

Not necessary at all - you have £226 million in the bank of which less than £80m is needed to cover debt servicing. So you could have spent another £150m in the window had you wanted to.

Therefore the reason you are trophyless is either:

a) No top players are interested in coming to Arsenal so you are stuck buying cheaper players from smaller clubs
b) Your manager is so stubborn he would rather sit on the cash and win nothing than take any risks trying to win something worth winning

My dear friend, the self restraint was during the time we built the stadiuma and were financing it from 2005 to 2013,not now..this season is not over yet.

Maybe the initial conversation was started in another thread and you had trouble following..i guess

The above is my current opinion of Jose and it is not set in stone like it is for tim sherwood so yes i am waiting till the ned of next season to get a picture but i will admit i dnt have high hope or expectations from him.

What I would like to know from the Man United fans is this:

IF (and it is a big if) you win the League cup (good chance) and the Europa cup (not so good but possible if you get through) but get only 6th or 7th place in the league at the end of the season, would it be considered a successful season for Mourinho? (even though his main objective on appointment was to get the title or at least top 4!).

Yes, at it would mean we get two trophies and get back into the champions league.

Quite a straightforward question really!!

I thought we'd have half a chance but if truth be told didn't really expect us to win the league this season. CL qualification is a must though, the Thursday night comp really does have an effect on the season, so winning it this year would be ideal if we don't make 4th. I'd rather an actual trophy than 4th any day.

If I'm honest, if we get knocked out of the EL and it looks like we won't get 4th I'd just as soon we end up 8th so there is NO Europe last year. Did Leicester no harm last season and it's doing Chelsea and Liverpool no harm this season.
