It's interesting that we aren't even mentioned as interested in Enzo Fernandes. Especially given Eriksen could be injured for a while. It's promising on a couple of fronts; One, is that we are no longer linked with spaffing money on the next big thing everytime one comes around. Two, spending desperate money in January is never really a good thing. (great that we're not desperate!) Three, we will have identified a couple of actual proper targets for summer, and we'll know where we are then with CL football etc. I'd expect genuine interest and pursuit of the likes of de Jong and Bellingham at the end of the season.
Eriksen out till May, probably the season. As this brings McTominay into the equation I think we should be looking at someone now. Who that is, today, I have no idea. ****ing injuries ffs. Either that or we see the season out and hope that Casemeiro and Fred don't get injured/suspended.
Initial reaction is to go for a loan deal. Does that make it harder to do a deal? I've no idea. Also, loan deals are usually for players that aren't quite up to the mark so does it improve the side? Chelsea have a couple of regulars being shipped out on loan. Ziyech and Jorghino iirc. Probably the best bet.
Jorginho would have been an ok stop gap, but he's gone to Arsenal. I wonder if Real would loan us Kroos? Or Barca loan us de Jong
Sabitzer mate. We've moved quickly to get him in. I don't know anything about him except he plays for Bayern. In a way I'm pleased bcos it shows some degree of deeper thinking from TH and Murtough, and we're not trying to sign some big name stop gap.
Fred will have a big shout to take up the spoils as the Bayern man settles in. Jadon needs to come back into the fold too. He can provide creativity if he can get back to himself.
Sancho returning is a real plus. Hopefully he’s revitalised and will give us that needed push, taking some of the workload from Rashford. What’s also been good from TenHag is the thought he gives to new additions: how do they fit in, their hunger and their work rate. We used to jump to the biggest names available and then find they hardly fit in in our system. TenHag brings in hungry players who will do the job, including the less glamorous bits like pressing defending and tackling . It looks like Sabitzer could be in that mould.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...selling-terminating-Paul-Pogbas-contract.html “ Juventus are FURIOUS with Paul Pogba, who is yet to play a minute since his return despite the club investing £31m to bring him back - they are considering selling him or TERMINATING his contract with a move to the MLS a possibility “
I'm genuinely delighted. Fergie was 100% right about him. He can sell his story to the papers about how Juve treated him badly this time
Are you foretelling the next event again? This is exactly what will happen. The worst part is that p!ssant has been on Instagram the whole time entertaining his followers.
Nooo - that tantalising prospect of one result making all the difference is going to test our resolve and City's too. Could end up with another Catalonian Keegan moment.
Not sure I understand? I'd much prefer we close the gap on City whilst keeping Spurs at a distance behind us. A draw would've done that.
100+ cases of witholding information and trying to scupper any investigations into their sponsorship and payment mechanisms. I'll say fck all will come out of it, until we see otherwise.
Leeds are still ****, but Wednesday's three points now less nailed on! Who will they bring in I wonder, who can possibly turn them round in a couple of days?
