We often see it in the first few months of the season, teams who aren't the usual suspects that do well, but it's forgotten come March/April.

Way too early to say Spurs will do anything more than they usually do imo.

I'd quite like Everton to be challenging come the business end tbh.

Genuine question; why is it too early to see Spurs doing anything different yet it's not too early to think Everton might? Appreciate you haven't stated they will.

Truth is, it's too early for anything yet and some of the bollocks talked by some after two or three games was ridiculous. However, I just don't see Everton as anything special compared to Spurs?

Oh I don't expect Everton to be this early on either, just expressing I'd like them to be. Not saying it's more likely than Spurs.

Could Everton finish Top 4 though? That would be an incredible achievement in itself.

Regardless of what we may think of Mourinho, he is one of only four managers in the league to have won the league - one of two to have done so several times.

Son and Kane are the real deal so far this season. If they get disciplined at the back in Mourinho's fashion, and with the league so open this year due to lack of home advantage, I would say that Spurs is a smart bet at 7-1.

I had to look at this twice - Liverpool have conceded 15 goals this season - most of those before the 'world's best defender' was injured.

Pre-Christmas wish list - tonight could go very well for us on several fronts. Everton could nick points from Leicester, the Gooners could revive and nick points from Soton and the Spuds and the Dippers could draw, the outcome of which would leave us two games in hand against the leaders with six points to play for, one game being against struggling Sheffield United. Don't you just know it will all go tits up tonight and we'll get thrashed 6 - 0.

When we think we've got an easy 3 points, that's the time we get overturned. Unfortunately that's the attitude of the players. If the opposition is in the bottom half our players think they've already won. **** attitude.

Nice to see City have their crowded fixture list eased a little by having the Everton game postponed. Good to see their squad get some extra rest during this busy time.

Good result for us in the Leicester v Palace game. Now we are three points off second with two games in hand.

Strange that - City players that were covid positive for the game at Everton are suddenly negative - incredible.

think it was just they had no new positive cases therefore they could reopen the training centre as the positive cases are in self isolation .
More clarity on these decisions would be good though .

They gave themselves a rest knowing they can't be penalised.

    Simple as that.

If they do it again for our league Cup semi we should be given the tie. **** em.

Well this was the disappointment last week when we dropped points to Leicester and Livpl dropped points to West Brom.

It's so much better having battled for those 3 points against Wolves to see Livpl drop points again.

Now... if we can beat Villa by 10 goals we can top the table <whistle>

Looking forward to Talk Sport again when I'm back to work Monday.

Even the last week prior to Christmas the likes of Alan Brazil and all his nodding dogs were droning on about it being a two horse race between City and Liverpool.

With maybe Spurs and Chelsea challenging ffs!

It was like they'd been told to not even mention United.

    ****ing halfwits!

It's true I listen to them too. I quite like Ally McCoist when he's on, I don't think he has an agenda at all.

They've been writing us off for the past few weeks, not even mentioning United. But guaranteed if we drop from 2nd they'll dedicate the morning show to what a disaster United are.

Interesting discussion elsewhere about the PL's decision to postpone gamed when the rule states -
"permission will not be granted to postpone a league match where the applicant club has 14 or more players listed on its squad list available."
Evidently that includes registered and eligible academy players, so how come City were granted a postponement
    Oh yes - they cheat.

It's the PL moreso than City we should be aiming both barrels at here. Have the FA or any club (i.e. Everton) challenged them on this?
