The fact Fleetwood play at Highbury Stadium would put me off !!

I had thought Rosler would get another chance higher up the league than League One, but obviously not. Good to see him back in the game though.

They even wear Arsenal colours too! :(

Agree that he's better than a relegation-threatened League One team but the Championship's getting a bit messy with all these clubs trying to buy their way up, in addition to newly relegated sides trying to do the same. Everyone's in a hurry these days, no patience for building things from the ground up.

Arsenal's squad now contains Holding, Gibbs, Walcott, Campbell and Gabriel

Is Wenger's policy now to sign West Indian Test cricketers?

If they have a player called Willy we could be treated to a football version of that great cricket commentary of " the bowler's Holding the batsman's Willy"

The Spammers are rumoured to be readying a bid of £20m for Swansea's Andre Ayew. Normal service is being resumed. If they didn't already have Andy Carroll, they'd be waving £30m and £150k p.w. at whoever did. What's it they say about a fool and his money?

Love that track and Temptation from that early-ish era.

It's been an attritional week for friends. We buried a mate's wife Friday and another mate who was at the funeral (employee of Crystal Palace FC) had a heart attack and died on Saturday morning, hence some Serious Drinking (Love on the Terraces) I don't recommend absinthe (The Damned) unless you don't like your brain very much but it is one of those drinks from my youth - snakebite and black with Pernod being another that produces a similar result - oblivion.

I've never understood this. When i passed my refereeing course back in the 90s it was an offence to swear at all. The example they used on the course was that even if a player swears at themselves (eg, misses a shot...."****!") then that was an offence.
When did it not become an offence? Seems a weird rule change to make. So actually all they're saying is that they're choosing to implement this rule now?
The thing that has been missing is not a rule in the rulebook, but the thing that connects the hips with the head in the officials.

I hear United's God has checked out of his Manchester hotel because they ain't got a pool.
My question.....do they have hot running water in Manchester hotels......?
Zlatan,it's Manchester.....what do you want!?

Indeed. It's that extra something that causes the refs to apply the laws (1) at all and (2) consistently to all teams including the "Sky favourites". Same goes for the FA / Premier League.
