Falcao's agent said that you have already agreed to sign him permanently, but you had to do things this way because of the FFP rules. Nothing to do with monitoring any injuries.
I guess he was mislead...

What does any future spending have to do with your defence being crap now? They looked poor against a QPR side that only touched the ball about three times.
You've yet to face a side with an impressive attacking force available, unless you include Swansea, yet you've looked awful at the back in every game.
How are things going to work out against the likes of City and Chelsea? You may well score, but you're definitely going to concede.
 
None of last seasons' top 7 have really got going yet.
Though Chelsky are looking ominous with Costa seemingly born to play in the PL.
Next week is where it starts to get interesting, with both Scousers now in UEFA campaigns,
and Man Utd not.

And ed woodward has said we could have signed him but a loan was also offered.

And we do have an agreement to sign him. Doesn't mean we will. Just thatna deal has been made in advance to save time later, should we go ahead with it.

Weve conceded 3 goals. Hardly a crisis. Weve brought in a number of defensive players and havent conceded in the last 2. Small signs of progress at the back. Huge signs of progress in midfield.

And we may well concede against the big sides. None of whom have good defences. Chelsea, arsenal, city, liverpool and spurs better hope they outscore us as di maria and co will have a field day against all those clubs defences.

In reality though, madrid are crying out for di maria. Instead they have the inferior bale and hamez.
 
The problem United have is that there is no longer any fear factor.

I remember dreading us having to go to OT, whereas, now, I view it as an easy 3 points. Even if it's not an easy 3 points, the fact that I think it should be demonstrates that United has become indistinguishable from any other mid-table side.

Qpr looks like they had completely **** themselves. First team in a while. Well since arsenal arrived at old trafford last season.
 
It's a pointless discussion until players have played a number of games together. di Maria doesn't look a £60M footballer, but he's still a very fine one, Falcao has 200 or so goals in 200 games before joining Monaco, Blind, Herrera and Rojo all looked quality yesterday, Shaw has yet to play in anger, but is promising. All you can say with certainty is that Utd looked a far, far better side with those players around, however the media choose to report it and however poor the opposition were on the day. Beating QPR doesn't make them worldbeaters, but the quality was still there to see.
 
I've always viewed Spurs sides (including our management), as being mentally extremely weak.

And that works both sides of the coin. By which, I mean the following.

When we've gone up against fearsome sides - and I mean "fearsome" in the minds of our squad and its management, regardless as to whether or not current form dictates that that tag is deserved - we have tended to panic and fold under the pressure of the occasion.

Conversely, when we've gone up against sides that our squad and its management have considered inferior to us, we have tended to be lax and prone to stupid errors.

I've put it down to "lack of discipline." Sure, that lack of discipline has, in the past, allowed players like Gasgoine, Hoddle, Waddle, etc, the freedom to express themselves, but mainly it's meant that we have never been the force in domestic and Prem football that our status ought to demand.

I'm hoping that Poch will stop the rot, and instill in the club the kind of discipline from which we can build the tools to develop the winning-mentality that we need to become regular CL contenders.

Spurs sides have had a soft underbelly for years and years now. It almost seems to be an endemic trait. Hassle them, put them under pressure and they'll fold is what I'm sure many sides are told.

He also said this the first interview he had after being announced as our manager.

Hes probably confident it will happen during his time here. Probably because hes been and done it everywhere hes been.

As I always seem to have to remind people, for some reason, bookies change their odds because of betting patterns.
Lots of Man Utd fans will back them to win the league, as they've seen it happen repeatedly and some will even buy into the media's ****fest about them beating QPR.
The bookies will lower the odds as far as possible to protect themselves, reduce the damage in case of both-ways bets and limit any payouts, regardless of the chance of something actually happening.

Buster Douglas was 42/1 to beat Mike Tyson when they faced each other in 1990.
Douglas' mother had died the previous month, his son was ill with a kidney infection and he had contracted flu the night before the fight.
None of that helped Tyson to get up from the canvas in the 10th round.

Betting odds do not influence reality.
