I remember quite a few spurs fans wanted us to buy Wilian, and I remember quite a few being upset when Chelsea nicked him from us.

Doesn't mean they were wrong yet ... But seriously how much of Willian had they seen to be so happy about us paying so much for him?

As I said a few times over the summer, the transfer fee wasn't the main issue for us. For me I was delighted at the prospect of signing a player that AVB clearly rates very highly and from what I'd seen he looked like an exciting player.

I doubt you would have trouble understanding that thought process as you said fabio coentrao would be a 'great' signing just before you admitted you had never seen him play.

A Haiku For Fulham This Evening

Scott Parker was great
As was Brede, and, of course,
Amorebieta

Well, well, well. It's a bit quiet on the Arsenal and Chav boards today.

After the hilarity of the Gooners talking up their own chances of winning the EPL this season whilst deftly writing off our chances of even finishing in the top 4, and the Chavs convincing themselves that we look disjointed and having been lucky to get the results we have, it would appear that our performance last night has laid all of that to bed.

One of the typical allegations laid at our door is that we're not scoring enough goals.

Could part of the reason for the current silence be down to the fact that the four we smashed past Villa last night has exposed that particular allegation as complete and utter bollocks? Hm, I wonder.

Perhaps another reason is the fact that we kept another impressive clean sheet, and are demonstrating that we now have the best defensive record in the league.

Hm. I wonder.

Wonder no more my friend.... I hereby declare it so! <cheers>

Liverpool are now happy to include Suarez in their starting 11. As responsible owners Liverpool have taken precautions although it might take the bite out of their attack.

QPR have signed Chevanton on a free. Never saw much of him in real life, but he's a player I always used to sign on Football Manager 06-08. In FM 06 he scored 50 league goals for my Spurs team in one season. Great team that - Van Bronckhurst and Belletti as wing backs, Burdisso and Squillaci (!) as CBs, Santa Cruz and Chevanton up top. Can't remember the rest...

I have no doubt Brendan Rodgers is a nice guy, but my goodness, he does talk some Shyte when he is interviewed.
