That's quite likely, yeah, and not just because I'm a Spurs fan. Wenger will play his second string, which aren't what they used to be, and WBA are coming off a good win at the weekend.

Orient look to have secured an 8th win in 8 league games this season going 2-0 up.

Brentford have been crap :(

A very well done to Leyton Orient tonight for continuing their winning run at Brentford. Played 8, Won 8 is an incredible start to the season. Orient are good friends of ours, plus both clubs share a dislike for West Ham.

Good to see a proper and well run football club doing well.

Brentford could've done with some Spurs youngsters this season, they just lacked any invention today.

Big shock of the game was finding out Kevin Lisbie's only 34! Feels like he's been around forever.

If you remember, we used to have a good relationship with Brentford. Not sure why the two clubs seem to have drifted apart in recent seasons. Brentford are another well run club who deserve a good run of good fortune.

Yeah, Bostock got sent back to Spurs and I think Byrne did too so maybe Spurs decided to go for a more reliable club. Quite a few of my mates are Brentford fans so we were consoling eachother on the final day of the season after we'd both had one of those typical Spurs/Brentford days. Brentford are always good for a cup run though so it's never boring there.

Does read well, I'll give it that, and does show him in good light, but you can see where a couple of figures are inflated. For example the WBA one, a good seasons results in the Championship has offset the mediocre PL seasons.

The only reason I'm saying this is because we're talking about whether he's PL standard, and I'm not sure he is. I might be wrong in doing so, but I'm sort of discounting his time at Chelsea, in what I can only describe as being in a puppet seat. He found himself in that position by default, no other top club has enquired since. For me he could still be in the good Championship/struggle in the Prem category, and there've been a few of late.

In his defence, he is a young manager, so mistakes are expected, and he may do well next time out. Ok for a punt, but if you want to play it safe I'd look for a bit more experience if I was a PL chairman looking at it. Tough choice that could be easily be a stroke or a joke.

Weren't Brentford one of Martin Allens odd merry-go-round career, I think he walked away having done well saying lack of investment in the team. Went to another club with big financial backing....obviously able to invest in his bank account too!

It's fantastic to see Leyton Ointment doing so well. A long time ago I used to alternate with Spurs one week and Orient the next.......unless I took in a Spurs away match.
I can just see Cliff Holton toe pokeing a corner for C.Palace and someone scoring the only goal from a header.....and a 5-1 away win for Spurs at Leyton in Orient's brief visit to Div 1.
In my crazy days I once watched 3 games in a day.Spurs at Fulham,Spurs reserves in the afternoon and the O's in the evening.Didn't have a car then so it was train, tube and bus.Was I bloody tired!!!!!

Yeah(he was the original "Mad Dog", HIAG). He did do really well with Brentford, to be fair, although stories of jumping in rivers and showing texts from Sir Clive Woodward to inspire the team don't exactly give off the impression of a guy that knows what he's doing. I remember going to the FA Cup replay against Southampton(when they were a PL side) and they gave it a real go and could've won it if they'd finished their chances. Such a shame as they could've got to the quarters as a League One side. I'm not proud of the dog's abuse we gave Crouch that day though, poor guy :D

No idea why he's done so badly since but his time at Brentford was superb.

5/8/13. ^

Good odds, SC? 8 wins from the opening 8 games is some going, though. Really impressive start. They're halfway to being safe already!

Not sure that would be a shock. I'd make Watford favourites at home with Norwich probably resting a few.

Peterborough at Sunderland looks like a potential shock. Leeds at Newcastle perhaps?

Arsenal profits down £30m to just £6m now, largely due to them not selling as many players last year. Hardly the financial powerhouse many of their fans would have us believe.

WOW, if that is true then no wonder they have ditched there dead wood, and been fairly reluctant to splash all the available funds.

Still if the rumours are true and they get Suarez + a few cheap frenchies, they could be in for a good year.

Anyone know when our stadium will be ready?

imagine how good we could be with all that extra money for Levy to spend! <yikes>

With our squad, new training ground and soon to be new stadium we should be an interesting prospect for players. (just need to clean up Tottenham high street a bit... <whistle> )

More of Perez's bullshit, coupled with shonky journalism: http://www.standard.co.uk/pasportsfeeds/bale-came-cheaply-says-real-chief-8836909.html

Lowlights include...
"The 24-year-old moved to Real from Tottenham earlier this month for 100million euros (£85.3million) after negotiations that lasted the entire summer transfer window." - What negotiations? We told them €100m or **** off.
"Tottenham did not want to sell. We learned that Manchester United had made an offer and we made one ourselves." - Hence we said €100m or **** off. And what bid from Man Utd?
"Since childhood he had had the dream of playing for Real Madrid and he asked us to make it possible for him to come." - Bullshit.
"No one leaves Real Madrid if they don't want to go." - With the following exceptions: Raul, Ozil, van Der Vaart...

In other news, West Ham fans continue to be a lovely bunch: http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crim...sioner-in-front-of-grandchildren-8835719.html
