ouch!
I rate Hiddink quite highly, did wonders in his short spell at Chelsea as Interim boss.
I shudder to think what Barca would do if they ever got a decent manager.
Their last few have had the intelligence and tactical nous of my 2 year old daughter and they have still mopped up trophies, imagine what they could do with a real manager in charge.

Hiddink was comfortably the best coach we've had bar Mourinho. i'd even put him above Gullit.

We'd be mad to sell him.

Kos and Mert have formed a decent pairing at the back but the season is long enough for 3 CBs to get regular game time. Vermaelen is out for around 3 months with a back injury at the moment, Kos and Szczesny picked up knocks on the Asia tour but are expected back soon.

We've shipped out a couple of turkeys at the back this transfer window, so I don't think we'll be selling Vermaelen

Yeah don't get me wrong from your club's perspective you'd be mad selling but would Vermaelen be interested in a 3rd choice role? Granted there's a good chance of game time but players like Vermaelen you'd think would want only first team football.

Seeing the links with Ashley Williams too, I highly doubt Williams would join as a 3rd/ 4th choice player while he's guaranteed starts at Swansea so that could even further force Vermaelen down the pecking order. Amazing how far he's fallen to be honest, it was only about 18 months ago I ranked him as one of the best in the league, now he wouldn't get in my top 10/15 CB's.

Though noticing his long term injury, there's no chance of him going this window anyway.

Hiddink is a hero, especially with what he did with the mess Scolari left us in. Scolari is the only manager under Roman I've wanted to be sacked. (Well Grant too, but not because of how he did, just thought we needed a manager more experienced at the top)

I'm surprised you rated Gullitt? Maybe my memory, but didn't he just bump along between Hoddle and Vialli and then get sacked quite quickly. As a player, wonderful, as a manager, not so much. Was shocking for Newcastle. Would rate Sexton higher? A reference for the teenagers.

Sexton? Is that some sort of reference to Rix?

Yep Dave Sexton surley one of the very best Chelsea managers, ahead of his time in many ways with his attention to detail. The polar opposite of Malcolm Allison but both top coaches.

Blimey, you've got a good memory  Just assumed some of the youngsters won't remember 70's football. I thought he was a decent manager in his time at Chelsea. And a decent man.

Teenagers try to forget Rix.

If you saw how we played prior to Gullit, you'd realise what a good manager he was for us <laugh>. We were scoring a lot more under him than Hoddle for example and Gullit attracted some great names one of which happened to turn out our greatest ever player. He also won our first trophy in nigh on 30 years which certainly wasn't going to do him any harm.

I don't think he will be 3rd choice though as there are enough games in the League, Champions League, FA cup, League cup for all 3 to get games. Also it's good to have equally as good quality pushing the starting CBs. As I said we'd be mad to sell Vermaelen and I don't think we will. As for Ashley williams, Swansea can keep him <ok>

You'd have thought that Moyes would be able to beat them then

De Gea; Fabio, Jones, Evans (Smalling), Evra; Anderson, Cleverley, Zaha (Giggs); Lingard (Ashley Young), Januzaj (Kagawa); Van Persie (Welbeck)

Not exactly a weak Utd team either :p
