  1. I don't care what United fans might be saying among themselves, but they've got to be worried. If they cannot beat the likes of Nissan Motors FC, how the hell do they expect to beat Hull and Palace?

The test of a good player is whether Drogs has heard of him? Oh dear.

Last Friday Spurs just drew 0-0 with Colchester, who just avoided relegation from League 1 last season. Are you worried too? Or do you accept that pre-season games are just to enable players to gain fitness and get into the routine where results are unimportant?

So in your eyes, pre-season results against Japanese plumbers and builders don't matter, but pre-season performances do?

  6. I'm always worried about Spurs, Little Luke.

However, I would certainly be far more worried if we had lost to a bunch of part-time plumbers and gas men.

Wasn't the general point of my post, but I'm willing to bet 99% of non United fans hadn't either. If he was so good the surely his name wouldve cropped up earlier?

Ironically you've just proved my point with your second post. They're apparently pointless games but if some unknown player scores he's suddenly going to be brilliant.

Nobody has said Lingard is a brilliant player irrespective of his performances in pre-season friendlies. But the fact that he is training and playing with the (depleted) first team squad at present is a step up for him. I've heard of him because he was a member of the team which won the F.A.Youth Cup in 2011 and he was loaned to Leicester last season with Michael Keane - which was no secret and would have been picked up by many football followers, not just Utd fans. I know about Chelsea players going out on loan - I've heard of de Bruyne, Lukaku, McEachran etc. Chalobah was playing in the same division at Watford.

    YFM are a full-time team.

The Thai side they lost to last week, on the other hand...

fair enough, however I've seen a few of your lot go way over the top about him via social media. Chalobah is younger btw which is my point.

Bbc breakfast are talking of a £40m+£1 bid because that triggers some kind of clause. Not a release clause, something else.
