A lot depends on Benteke's own ambition, does he fancy himself in Europe?, he's bound to and he must know it'll be a long time before Villa see it next. His agent will no doubt see an earner here and will be in his lughole in the summer. I'll be surprised if he turns out for Villa in August.

If he can get good money at Villa and is guaranteed regular football I think he'll be happy to stay.

Seen it with Sunderland before. It happened under Bruce and MON. A good start then they fall away as again they have. Hopefully this will put them into dejected rather then fighting mode for the last matches.

Had a dump in my labourers nail pouch once, all the nails stuck together like a hedgehog. He put it on and where ever he went he he thought a cat had **** there. He had pissed me off by taking a day off without asking.

Yours resembled a cats?? were you on a diet, or is a lion wandering around? :)

Without Sessegnon Sunderland are going to struggle though, even though they've got winnable games remaining.

Would bloody love it if Newcastle went down. I've been wanting it to be Villa or Wigan all season but for the first time in my life I warmed to Villa tonight and Wigan are a likeable club too.

What is great news is that both Wigan and Newcastle need to play out of their skins to stay up, and the Gunners have got to play both. They are going to be hard, bruising battles, which will not fit the Gunners' tippy-tappy style of football, so I am hopeful of at least one upset.

I think we can all write-off QPR's chances of doing anything against them. Unless, of course, 'Arry makes it a rule that any player not pulling his weight in that game is out the door, come the end of the season. I'm hoping he puts in a few of reserve squad in place of the champagne charlies, as they are more likely to give it a go, on the basis that the latter are probably off in the Summer, in any event.

Dave,Stoke have won their last two,to claim they'll lose to Sunderland is very bold of you. I'm not so sure.

Stoke have beaten a team that couldn't be arsed and that's about it. Look at QPR's home record and Norwich's away record. It's nothing to run to the hills about.

Dipstick Line, how could I ever leave you and Angelordrivel? What would you do without me to guide you and to bring you down to earth by saying you're the luckiest team on the planet? But in an earlier you post you state Arsenal were not lucky and now you state that they were lucky, you see the problem I have with the average Chelsea supporter?

Ouch TMT :bandit:

Oh don't feel bad, you're NOWHERE near as thick as dregs.

Well if Arry stays at Hoops as I've read let's expect them back up again season after next to play us. I've read £55 mill plus a player from Utd for Bale,I'd take it. Look where the Goons are without RVP their one time best player. It doesn't follow that losing best players means that team will collapse as Pool proved without Suarez last week. Mind you I think fate took a hand with both Geordie teams taking a 6 goal hiding,a bit like both Spanish teams last week with four goal thrashings and one team scoring one goal. I don't normally watch the CL if there are no English clubs in it but I'll be watching tonight to see what happens.

Disagree. The amount of money we get for Bale is irrelevant if we can't get a first team guaranteed starter who contributes that many goals/assists. Is there a player that can do that? If not then it will make the team weaker regardless of who we get or who we spend the money on. At the end of the day you can only field 11 players and losing Bale makes us weaker - I don't think we've been able to replace Modric have we? Even if you get two players for the money they can't both play unless someone else goes too! Also, if other teams know you've got £55m in the bank, then you find any player you are looking for suddenly goes up significantly in price - would Carroll have cost that much had Pool not had the Tores fee to spend?

I also don't think you can assess Pool without Suarez on the basis of the last match (and the other one he missed where they scored 3 or 4 I think). That is a small sample and could be a one-off. In fact, if Pool want to use that as "evidence" of how they would perform and think they don't have to try and replace him then I'll be very happy!
