We can't say too much about playing reserves in cup games.Harry kept doing it and we went out and AVB has done it this season in the League and FA Cups.
Swansea's fans don't care but I bloody do!I want to see my team trying to win ALL competitions!!!!!
Our fans don't want to spend their money travelling all over the place just to see our team dead in the water before they even start,as we were against Leeds and Norwich!
I still would prefer Lloris in goal in the cup games..........and Ade get his finger out!

Laudrup should be free to choose any team from HIS squad, who are the premier league to say what team a manager should pick?

When managers hand in their 25 man squad, are they asked to name their best starting XI? and told what team they must play each week.

either way fair play to laudrup as he knows how important a cup win will be.

And anyway Liverpool fielded Reina and Downing whilst bringing on Henderson, Allen and Borini. It's hard to say which side were more disadvantaged <whistle>

:D

Possibly Liverpool should be fined for giving the opposition an advantage with their constant use of inferior squad players!

Surley thats a bigger "crime" then Laudrup resting 6 players for ONE game, players that needed a rest.

Biased, only because you have a soft spot for them.

City will win it (assuming they don't mess up v Leeds), they have the tools to beat United home or away, not sure anybody else does. To have any hope of winning it Chelsea need to beat the teams in front of them first and then hope they don't draw a Manchester club in the QF. At Wembley Chelsea are more than capable of holding their own to either Manc club but we'd get slaughtered at the Bridge with the counter attacking weapons they have at their disposal and refs (United) :(

avoid one of the Manchester Clubs? <laugh>,oops!!

just been on the goons match thread for a "chat" and according to their mod, wenger has to be sacked so they can compete with europes elite and giroud is now useless (shocker)!

Giroud has alway's been useless,he's the goon 's version of Torres <laugh>

You've lost me there. I get the other two but I'm baffled

At a guess:
Ivanovic: Dives constantly, which is extremely embarrassing for a big Eastern European defender with a bruising reputation, plus he's dirty.
Luiz: See his shoulder to the face yesterday.
Hazard: Kicking a ball boy.

This, although I don't really care about the ball boy thing, it was a stupid moment for both of them and they apologised. Hazard looks for penalties all the time and I don't really like that. Ivanovic also punched a player off the ball and is generally a total arse.

DL, were you at the game yesterday? Still don't think your lot sing about Tottenham when we're not there... <whistle>

and what are your thoughts on Bale doing the EXACT same thing? <confused>

by the way, see the quote "wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire", tad harsh don't you think <laugh>

How many penalties has Bale won for Spurs this season?

I'm thoroughly against him diving and I've repeatedly criticised him for it, but his reputation and the punishments received are disproportionate to what he's actually done.
There are far worse offenders around who receive little or no punishment and 10 times less publicity for their offences.
One example that's probably not controversial was Adel Taarabt in our recent game against QPR. Blatant dive, but he was merely told to get up by the ref, who indicated that it was a dive. No consistency.

It's a phrase but yes, I noticed the irony of talking about players lacking class and following it with that. I like the phrase though and it just means I've got no time for them.

Bale doesn't go looking for an excuse to go down in the box every game like Hazard does. I'm not claiming Spurs players are innocent but they, like Oscar, Mata and Ramires who I don't criticise, might go down under slight contact but they don't look to draw contact all the time like Hazard does, in my opinion.

Hazard has never been punished for diving/simulation and every single penalty gained from him this season has been stone wall. Bale dives, and has been punished for it.

oh and how you think Ramires dives and Bale doesn't really is beyond me!

Whether Hazard's been booked for simulation or not is irrelevant. Pires used to do it all the time and never/rarely got booked and Ashley Young still gets away with it.
Your own namesake did it in virtually every game, which I'm sure you're well aware, Drogs.
Bale's been booked correctly this season on two occasions, if I remember right, and incorrectly on three.

YV didn't say that Bale didn't dive and he actually suggested that Ramires didn't dive, but that he went down under slight contact, rather than dishonestly looking to draw contact.

well it is relevant when one is sticking up for someone who has been booked for it.

and regarding your last comment, that's diving in my book.

Bookings are irrelevant because they're regularly wrong.
Drogba didn't get booked for this:

However he did get booked for this:

According to your logic, the first isn't an example of him cheating, but the second is. <confused>

now at what point PNP, did I say that? <confused>. Bale has been rightly booked, 5 times, for simulation. If he hadn't I'd say trust me.

You're just wrong. Sorry.
He dived against Villa and was booked for dissent against Norwich, a game in which Huddlestone was incorrectly dismissed.
He was incorrectly booked for simulation against Fulham, Liverpool and Sunderland, where he was clearly fouled in each case, the last of which should've been a penalty and a red card.

the 3 you're defending, I can't speak for the one against Liverpool as I don't recall it so I'll amend my comment before to rightly booked 4 times, but the one against Sundlerland definitely was and the his actions in mid air didn't help him against Fulham.

The Sunderland one was a clear foul. The defender's knee collides with the side of his leg and the arm comes across his body.

How he went over against Fulham has no relevance as to whether he was actually fouled or not, which he clearly was.
Here's the foul against Liverpool, which should've seen Agger go into the book:

So that's 1 out of an initial 5.
