The Mad Russian sacking Di Matteo then hiring Benitez smacks of him trying to save face over his squandering £50m on the distinctly average Torres. His logic must be that seeing as Benitez once got the best out of the miserable donkey he will do so again thus justifying Romans decision to buy Torres .

A bit harsh maybe. In his day he was one of the best in the world but now just trudges round the field with a long face....... like a donkey. He probably just needs to head home to Spain to rediscover his mojo.

It is sad to see as his day should be now! He is still only 28 and yet plays like his days are coming to a close yet he should be at his peak. It is a shame to see as he is the polar opposite of Suarez who is a nasty, cheating, diving, racist scumbag. Torres wasn't an angel in his Liverpool days but I hardly remember him diving too much or complaining to the ref all the time. Just got his head down and got on with the game.

I'm baffled as to how silva's tackle just went completely unnoticed. yes, he won the ball, but there was no mention of his studs and how dangerous it was. I've seen players go for a challenge like that. neither Martin Tyler or Gary Neville picked up on it.
