Well, from what I've just seen, The Goons were bloody lucky today. Arteta, so far offside that even Harry's missus could have given it. If the idiot Mbia hadn't got himself brainlessly sent off on top of that ridiculous decision. QPR would have at least a point.
 
When you're at the top the luck goes with,when you're at the bottom the luck goes against. Still we could be 4th tomorrow because I'm going for a Merseyside draw.

Hughes was hardly gracious afterwards - apparently Arsenal never had any clear chances. Julio Cesar presumably thinks differently, given he was on the receiving end of them.
 
When I started watching football in the 50's,Arsenal were continually referred to as "lucky Arsenal".
Still works for them,doesn't it?
But Man U have ALWAYS had it,too!

Perhaps but they deserved to win on the face of it, I didn't see the game but Cesar seemed to pull of 3 or 4 unbelievable saves

They didn't deserve to win, as they didn't score a legitimate goal.
Cesar's a member of the team, so why shouldn't his contribution count? I never understand that argument. Why is a keeper playing well any different to a striker doing the same?

Agree with you but I meant on the balance of play, Arsenal controlled the game. I've tried to use the same argument to counter claims we were lucky to beat Barca and Bayern but to no avail so I see where your coming from

Arsenal were the home side playing against a team that's expected to spend the season fighting against relegation and they were at home. They should be controlling the game, especially as they're set up to dominate possession.
Were Arsenal the better team? Yes. Does being the better team mean that you automatically win? No.

I honestly think QPR would have won but for M'Bia's inexplicable moment of madness. With a loss at Old Trafford looking nailed on in this current form that would have led to Wenger being under increasing pressure. As it is I think they can afford to lose next week now.

Having just seen it again, Cesar pulled off some good saves, only one that I would call a great save. However QPR were down to 10 men for the last minutes. Arteta was literally yards offside. WTF the linesman was doing, I don't know.

If we had benefitted from an offside goal like that there would be a media witch hunt like with Torres v Reading. But as its Arsenal nobody will bat an eyelid. Scandalous officiating all round really
 
Ryan Neilsen was playing Arteta onside, so it was a legitimate goal. That said, even if it was offside, it served to upset Mark Hughes even further <ok> If it wasn't for Cesar, we could have run out comfortable winners in the end.

Truth is, we didn't play badly, but we weren't at our best. Not surprising coming off the back of two defeats. Objective was to get the win, so it was job done.

I did too, when I first saw it. It's Mackie and he may have played Arteta on for the initial header, I haven't seen a clear shot that would show either way.
He's clearly offside when the ball comes forward from Ramsey though, so it shouldn't have counted. Not that it matters, as the decision can't be changed.
 
Either way. We won and we pissed Mark Hughes off in the process <ok>
 
Everton 2-2 Liverpool

No idea how Everton aren't winning this. They've totally dominated bar a 5 minute spell. Rodgers need to change it or they are nailed on to lose.

You can't have seen many Chelsea games this season then TMT because you'll find in virtually all games we've played incredulous decisions have gone against us.

Arsenal away - Vermaelen not getting sent off.
Spurs away - Penalty not given
QPR away - 2 penalties not given
Norwich Home - Penalty not given

I won't bore you anymore, but we've had numerous decisions go against us this season as have City and Wigan.
