What a dickhead getting himself sent off and the goons go ahead. Still it's a bad performance from Arsenal.

    Bullshit commentary:

Tough call? I hate to agree with Mark Hughes, but Arteta's offside twice, judging by that.

Even so PNP an 84th minute offside goal against 10 man bottom team QPR is not good yet Wenger's happy.

3 points in the bag. Not sure I'd be too bothered either, to be honest. They've had a really **** week, so another failure to score would've been very painful.

And City go ahead after surviving a scare, just our luck.3 points is the only plus for Arsenal unless you consider Willshere's return. They'd have lost to a better team today.

12 minutes of Fergie time at the Etihad. That's quite a lot.

I agree but a lot depends on the United game now. If Arsenal beat United the poor performances of late will be long forgotten.

If they lose they can kiss goodbye any feint hope they had of the title for another year IMO. It'll most likely be another battle for 4th.

    Massive week for Arsenal

Swansea have had enough chances to win the match twice. It's the aura District, they're champions and Swansea are minnows.

No, I don't. They're winning 1-0. They really don't want 12 minutes of injury time!

yeah but if we are 1 0 up and we get that amount of extra time than people still call it "Fergie time" anyway

Swansea do this against a lot of teams. They could do with a really predatory striker, but he'd have to fit into their footballing philosophy, so he'd cost about £50m.

Swansea's decision making in the final 3rd is what lets them down.

There are so many average teams in the PL this year though. Stoke, Sunderland, Villa and co will probably stay up by default just because the rest aren't good enough

Well again as I said about Arsenal City would have lost at home to a better team tonight. Scraping a 1-0 after a 3-1 defeat and only against Swansea means that they have a bit of trouble. Micah Richards gone too. If only we have forwards on form we can beat City as we have done on numerous occasions in recent years. Yes PNP you are right but they showed spirit tonight and could have won it.

Your probably right TMT but there are a lot of out of form teams in the PL at the moment. I'm not surprised that Arsenal have played 3 decent teams this season and not won any of them.

They are a good side but IMO less well equipped than Spurs to take on the bigger sides. They'll be flat track bullies.

Arsenal will do better against the lesser sides than Spurs will though IMO so it evens itself out sort of.

And as I said about City, they'll finish top 3. In fact the top 4 already has an ominous same old, same old ,look to it.

Also as I said, let's see after 12 games who's had the best start between us and Arsenal, when we've played 6 games at home each.

Gutted about Arsenal winning, had the Rangers player not got himself sent off, they could have nicked a valuable point for them, and kept us above Arsenal.

Well pleased that West Ham lost, I so don't want them to finish above us, not that I think they will, but don't even like them above us in the table for a day let alone a week or more as happened recently.

Arsenal always have been flat track bullies - the problem they have is more and more teams have found a way to nullify them, but Wenger hasn't altered his tactical approach to compensate.

Wenger has yet to accept how the Premier League has changed:
1998: Man Utd and Arsenal were fighting over the Premier League title with little opposition
2005: Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal were fighting over the Premier League title, with Liverpool waiting in the wings
2012: Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City are fighting over the Premier League title, with Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle and possibly waiting in the wings

Another way to put it is
1998 - Arsenal and Man Utd assured of the Premier League's two Champions League places
2005 -Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool assured of the Premier League's four Champions League places
2012 - Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Man city, Spurs, Newcastle and Everton all fighting for the Premier League's four Champions League places

Most of the clubs on that list have adjusted their approach, tactics or policy in that time to deal with this - Arsenal haven't.
