Quite naive that don't you think? Barcelona are on another level if passing to those two, as proved when they mutilated both last season <ok>

It's the only way to beat Barca. fact<ok>

Arsenal beat them last season without parking the bus or kicking them into the stands. Fact.

Add to that some of your fans are adopting the logic of the criminal to defend your tactical approach - "He's a diver so it's alright to kick them off the pitch"/"He looked at me funny so it's alright to kick his head in" - says a lot.

Didn't understand the second bit

Didn't understand the second bit

Some of your fans are adopting the "They cheat, so we should kick them" logic to defend your tactics, which is self-defeating because by running around kicking them you are also cheating - as well as the fact when it comes to diving, that logic means that your players should have also been kicking their teammates for 90 minutes.

Nonsense. Sanchez is another 40 million odd pound player. Hardly a light weight replacement.

Until this week when Real and us have put them to the sword, everyone has been have a merry **** over Barca and their 'fantastic' football. They've again scored a bucket load and whilst they wont win the league this year, it's only cos of their poor start. They came into our tie on a great run of form.

Teams in spain have a 'go' at them all the time, and get battered more often than not. If and when Spurs play them, we can then see if Spurs will have a go. I doubt it though given the performances against Madrid last year.

Sanchez is another 40 million odd pound player. Hardly a light weight replacement....whats the price got to do with it?....Andy Carroll! <whistle>

Arsenal Szczesny, Sagna, Djourou, Koscielny, Clichy, Diaby, Wilshere, Rosicky, Fabregas, Nasri, Van Persie
Barcelona Valdes Dani Alves, Busquets, Abidal, Adriano; Mascherano; Xavi, Iniesta; Pedro, David Villa, Messi.

Like I said, different side, only 7 played last night.

**** Spanish teams have a go and get battered you mean, they had a soft run till they met you lot in the CL too, copping only Milan of any note (hang on, sorry, Milan are **** according to you lot last year) twice, once in a crap group, and again in the knockouts.

Real weren't all that 11v11 at WHL...I was there, a Gomes fumble lost us that one. Other than that pretty even tbh.

You got a decent result, fair play for that, but nowt else from me. :)

The only kick they got was Terry being a complete ****stain and he still got punished.

We scored two with 10 men!

We scored two with 10 men!

Barca's unusual aversion to defenders probably helped with that.
Their squad seems to have a few holes in it, doesn't it?

How many recognised centre-halves actually finished that game in that position?
Very strange.

I've said before that I've got no problem with teams adopting different tactics to deal with different opponents, so this is no different to a team like Stoke using spoiling tactics against a better footballing side.
Why play to lose?
You set up with the best means to win that you had available.
I wouldn't want to watch a team play like that every week, but you don't, so I don't see the problem.
Barca's possession football can be just as tedious at times, anyway.

Ivanovic, Lampard, Mikel, Ramires, Meireles - all booked last night. And all have a reputation for clogging opposition players, coincidentally...

Well you must be a right pansy

Ivan was booked for having a pop at the ref for the pen by the way

Best post here. Spot on.

Agree Luke (with the first part <grr>). Puyol and Pique were one of the best partnerships on the planet for club and country, both have slipped dramatically recently!

Who we supporting tonight fellas?

Now im thinking who will have the best chance of beating Chelsea in the final? due to our own intrests of getting 4th place and that last CL spot.

Bayern will be at home if they get through...but Madrid are the strongest team in europe this year it seems?

not sure if Bayern are even the strongest team in their own league this year...

Bayern are reall good at home, 16 games, 13 wins 1 draw 2 losses. They're G.D. is +41 in 16 games, which is the same as City's G.D. (and Bayern have played 1 less game).

Either outcome and Chelsea will still be the underdogs (especially with 4 first team players out), though Chelsea always seem to have an edge about them...

think im going for Bayern..i dont like Madrid...that arrogant aura about any team pisses me off....and i struggle to watch a match unless i back someone.

ball to hand..crap ref again!

2-2 on aggregate..Madrid through on away goals as things stand (first leg 1-2 Bayern)
