He should have 5cms of grace, for a start.
I can't see lines, either. I see one. No idea where the defender's foot is in relation.

It looks like the line is further forward than the defender so that’s the grace.

You can legally score from the top of your shoulder so that’s why he’s offside I guess.

Danny Welbeck is offside against Fulham:

Even though the goal was allowed on the field, the default position seems to be that VAR wants proof that the goal should be allowed, rather than the other way around - which is wrong.
This isn’t conclusive of anything.
And these drawing of lines is only of any use if you can pinpoint the precise moment the pass was played - which, in itself, is an issue which comes down to fine margins.
This approach to offsides is ruining the spectacle.
As I said a few days ago, sport is enjoyed in the moment; it’s ruined by this painful forensic analysis, which is often inconclusive and controversial.

It doesn't help when it feels like they're making it up as they go along.
I think it's just this country, too. You watch games from other leagues and most of it's fine.
Far less ****ing about and eventually getting it wrong anyway, for a start.

You beat me to it.
Like Romero, he’s performed at one end of the pitch at least.
To be fair to both of them, both of their managers picked a WTF lineup.
You see the team selection, then try to work out where everyone's playing.
Then the game starts and you're wrong.

Forest beating Brentford just made this weekends results even more interesting.
Leeds in good form, Forest with 7/9, and West Ham with 6 points from their last 2 games. <yikes>

But Palace in free fall. An interesting "6 pointer" coming up...

I wonder with Palace...have they made a conscious decision that it just isn't worth it trying to climb the league and stay there, and instead have resigned themselves to treading water just above the relegation zone?
