Even though the goal was allowed on the field, the default position seems to be that VAR wants proof that the goal should be allowed, rather than the other way around - which is wrong.
This isn’t conclusive of anything.
And these drawing of lines is only of any use if you can pinpoint the precise moment the pass was played - which, in itself, is an issue which comes down to fine margins.
This approach to offsides is ruining the spectacle.
As I said a few days ago, sport is enjoyed in the moment; it’s ruined by this painful forensic analysis, which is often inconclusive and controversial.
It doesn't help when it feels like they're making it up as they go along.

I wonder with Palace...have they made a conscious decision that it just isn't worth it trying to climb the league and stay there, and instead have resigned themselves to treading water just above the relegation zone?
The uptick at United under Carrick serves as a very simple and equally very obvious example of what happens if you appoint a manager who makes it his priority to get the most out of the hand he was dealt, instead of trying to shoehorn players into a system they are ill suited to deliver well.
