Though when you think about it they are complaining about their cheating being punished more severely than it should have been.

Apparently it's one of the worst refereeing decisions of all time according to the likes of Shearer and O'Hara! What a load of bollocks yes it was probably just a yellow card but I personally would love to see that always given as a red - professional foul is such an old fashioned term for this it's blatant cheating and borderline serious foul play, if more players were sent off for it maybe it wouldn't be prevalent in the game today.

The reason for the red wasn’t because it was a professional foul to stop a counter attack, it was because it was above the ankle.

let’s be honest, it wasn’t a red and was a shocking decision.

I don't think it's a shocking decision, I would like that type foul to be eradicated from the game. I agree that it's not often given as a red card and that a yellow would have been the expected card, but there equally bad decisions made by refs every week.

Yeah me too but the rules of the game don’t deem a cynical professional foul to be a red card. Teams do it all the time to stop counter attacks and yellows are nearly always given.

Reactions: The Changing Man
Was just another in a very long line of awful decisions going back years.

Off the top of my head i can remember
1. Pedro mendez no goal
2. That Ronaldo penalty at the lane where we were fined for showing it were a penalty on the big screens <laugh>
3. The non penalty at OT
4. That bizarrely refereed game at stoke.
5. The not over the line Chelsea goal v us.
6. Jan Vertoghen being offside...in his own half.
7. The non penalty v Bournemouth during lockdown
8. The non penalty v Newcastle in 2019
10. The non penalty v Arsenal last season.
12. Sons red v Everton

These are just the ones against spurs ... off the top of my head.
There will be a similar list by fans of every club... because refereeing standards are awful.

The red yesterday in no way is the worst...it's par for the course.

I'm sorry, but you'll have to be more specific. We didn't get one there for about 75 years, IIRC.
We finally got one during COVID so we had no fans there and the score was 5-1 with them down to 10 men.

The one given for a good tackle on Carrick...think we were 2 up and that got them back into the game. Can't remember the refs name but he admitted he knew he ****ed up at the time and was hoping they missed it.

Howard Webb. He gave them everything all day because Ferguson was whining about a decision from a previous game.
Pair of cheating ****s.
