I went on a WHL stadium tour with Ledley King about ten years ago and Ramos got brought up. Among other things, he said that the guy was an unbelievable tactician for big games, he was so meticulous on minor details it was actually said to be very impressive and it proved huge as we annihilated Arsenal in the semi and then beat you in the final but he said outside of big games Ramos done zero tactical planning, barely spoke to players during training and on matchdays essentially said before each game they should “just go out and win” without a game plan in place and so the players often went out into games with no direction or instructions on how to play.
From a fans perspective, that’s exactly how it felt to watch because our football outside of those League Cup games was beyond atrocious, we’ve endured some absolutely dismal spells of football for a while now (Ange included) but that spell under Ramos was probably rock bottom.
As ‘Arry loved reminding everyone after he took over from Ramos “we had 2 points from 8 games”.
