It’s not just the final though, it’s that whole knockout stage, they don’t ever seem to play well but they always hang in there and get the job done.

I felt that Madrid were very disappointing and quite lucky to get the win, but Dortmund missed big chances.
Was very disappointed in the unpunished diving when the winners were struggling, too. Poor.

His behaviour was truly unacceptable, though.
Signing for West Ham? What a ****.

Physically pains me that this was the last man to win a trophy at Spurs.

    Madness..

Yet another reason why the club need to end the trophy drought. To think he won a trophy but Harry and Poch didn’t is gutting.

I went on a WHL stadium tour with Ledley King about ten years ago and Ramos got brought up. Among other things, he said that the guy was an unbelievable tactician for big games, he was so meticulous on minor details it was actually said to be very impressive and it proved huge as we annihilated Arsenal in the semi and then beat you in the final but he said outside of big games Ramos done zero tactical planning, barely spoke to players during training and on matchdays essentially said before each game they should “just go out and win” without a game plan in place and so the players often went out into games with no direction or instructions on how to play.

From a fans perspective, that’s exactly how it felt to watch because our football outside of those League Cup games was beyond atrocious, we’ve endured some absolutely dismal spells of football for a while now (Ange included) but that spell under Ramos was probably rock bottom.

As ‘Arry loved reminding everyone after he took over from Ramos “we had 2 points from 8 games”.

Ahh yeah I remember Harry saying that all the time.
Forgot that that was under Ramos.
We kinda have the same relationship with Benitez and Sarri, even though they both won the Europa League at Chelsea, the fans hate them.

I can’t say for certain but wasn’t there already some beef with you lot and Benitez? Sure I remember that the moment he took over there were fans in the stadium chanting for him to be gone, lol.

Aye he had made nasty comments about Chelsea during his time at Liverpool if I recall.
Was a mistake hiring him to begin with.

Yeah hiring an ex Liverpool manager legend for Chelsea was always gonna end in tears.

Kind of like Spurs hiring AvB, Mourinho and Conte for Spurs.

    Clubs never learn though.

I think it was Jermaine Jenas who outlined just how nonsensical Ramos' training sessions were, bringing up how a day or two before he was sacked he basically irritated the entire squad by insisting that Tom Huddlestone play left back in a training session in spite him not being a left back or possessing a good enough left foot to be a scratch left back, plus the minor detail of Benny Assou-Ekotto being in that same training session
