Brighton deserved winners tonight, and Brighton deservedly go ahead of us in the league where they should stay, looks like our game at Villa will be a Europa Conference league shoot out!!
They did deserve it overall, but terribly frustrating way to lose
The only consolation is that I had a £1 free bet on a convoluted bet builder which looked doomed in the 97th minute. Needed a MacAllister SOT and Brighton win…,:emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash:
Only £14.50

I personally have zero interest in the wifi password tournament. Might be for the best if we just had a season out of Europe and concentrated on improving our league standing and half a serious crack at the cups instead of our usual three half-baked cakes.

Either way I think Villa will turn us over so the discussion is academic. 8th place has our name on it.

With the right manager I’d happily take Conference League and use some games to blood some youngsters into the side. We’ve been so stale the last few years with youth development that this competition would be ideal for bedding a few in.

No manager bar Jol and Ramos has taken the UEFA Cup/EL or the conference league seriously. They got to the 1/4 finals but have either failed to get out of the group stages or gone out in the last 32 or 16 stage.

Pisses me off that we act like we are above winning them tbh ... we've won 2 League Titles and no European Cups /CL so God knows why we continually treat other trophies with contempt is a bit beyond me tbh

but that’s never the case

there always bit part first teamers playing and usually showing us up against a bunch of plumbers and post men

then we play Sundays most weeks and we are relying on a bench that more than likely just embarrassed us a few days earlier and offer zero inspiration.

I think one less headache for THFC next year, the better. Get our domestic house in order(no faith in us achieving this btw) since we don’t seem to multi task very well as a club

thanks to…..

I get what you’re saying and depending on who the manager is I’d possibly agree.

But I would like to think those at the top realise the discontent fans have with the squad and the need to shift a lot out, as well as provide chances to youngsters that we used to be known for and therefore hire a manager who’s not afraid to provide chances.

Levy himself has even more or less admitted the club’s got a lot of signings wrong in a recent interview, so hopefully him, Munn and whoever our new DoF will be rids us of a lot of these wasters and allows for a few youngsters to start injecting some fresh blood in certain games.

It’s a lot hopefulness on my part but then we’re ****ed if there’s no hope lol.

I'd agree if it wasn't for the fact that we have 4 years of bad habits and atrocious tactics to exorcise from the players' muscle memory. Mason has spoken about this a few times, expressing frustration that the squad is so far 'gone' tactically it defaults to sitting deeper and deeper, even when there is no need to. Stellini learned the hard way that there is no quick fix to such a long-standing problem. He tried to change things up tactically and we got torn to shreds.

The new manager will need as much time as possible on the training ground with this lot. Two fixtures a week and loads of travelling just isn't conducive to getting new ideas across.

agree <ok>
Can we eat some lasagne prior to the match, just to be certain?

Any European competition needs to be taken seriously and we should be trying to finish as high as we can.Try telling Roma fans about the europa conference who like us, hadn’t won anything in ages and Jose is actually building up his reputation again off the back of winning it.

Or tell it to West Ham fans who look like they will survive and if they win this competition, they’ll have had a better season than us and playing in a higher European competition than us.

We haven’t earnt the right to be snooty about any competitions.

Plus with the new champions league format coming in, coefficient can be a way in so need to try and keep some coefficient points going.
