Not a fan of Abramovich or Elad, but to compare the actions of a sovereign government bombing civilians, with a privately funded organisation which spends most of its time trying to convince Palestinians to sell their homes for a 300% profit is a tad myopic.
Both wrong, no doubt, but I think so key to understanding and solving global wrongs is to be careful not to conflate every wrong under the same umbrella of wrongdoing.
Putting any collateral in the club out of the reach of sanctions.

I’m not saying it’s all the same but it’s still wrong. You make Elad sound like a nice friendly company when in reality they’re backed by the Israeli government and help the illegal settlements grow which have displaced and continue to displace innocent Palestinian people.
My main point was that it seems ok for owners to have links to some bad people but not others.

I couldn't be bothered to find a close up of City's Peace to Ukraine warmup top, which makes the most of the similar blue in Ukraine's flag. Tbf, City have provided the best coordinated response to the invasion.
Trust me, compared to some of the stuff Abramovich is without question eyeballs deep in, Elad is indeed a nice friendly organisation. The only reason his links to it are doing the social media rounds is because stuff (anything) about Israel tends to stick, and it is the only financial involvement of his in something controversial for which there is evidence in the public sphere.
Most people sharing it have little clue who Elad are, why they exist or what they do. People just see 'Abramovich' 'Israel' 'Settlers' 'Palestinians' '$100m' and join the dots from a position of ignorance.
The real reason he made those donations was to conjure favour with the (thankfully ended) Netanyahu government. His donations to Elad span a period corresponding almost perfectly with the duration of Netanyahu's premiership. Why? Because of potential legal action against him both here and in Russia. He needed a bolthole just in case things went south, so he applied for Israeli citizenship and - surprise surprise - was awarded it in 2018.
Honestly if that and that alone were the only shady thing he's pulled over the years, I'd have little problem with him owning Chelsea. And there is absolutely no comparison to the Saudi question.
No question he is involved in far, far shadier stuff - we just don't know about it. And for that reason, he should be gone.

And that's why I don't find the Elad links helpful. It is undoubtedly the molehill among many hidden mountains; a distraction when I doubt it would surprise anyone if we found out he's been selling weapons grade plutonium on the black market.
Publishing that 2019 HO report that named him for 'illicit financial and malign activity' would be a good start to revealing what he's really been up to.
As KH rightly says, they are all the same. Few people rise to the top percentile of human finance by being nice and playing fair.
Who are owned by Farhad Moshiri, the business partner of Alisher Usmanov.
Usmanov is a Russian oligarch, named on the same list as Abramovich.
Moshiri is the chairman of USM Holdings, who are owned by Usmanov and will sponsor the new ground.

On a serious note, when people chat on about "it don't matter who owns my club" this is the kind of **** that happens.
Due diligence is non existent cos it refuses to deal with morals. Hence the last take over at Newcastle.
Not sure how this makes any difference as he retains ownership. If the oligarchs could save their assets from sanctions by simply transferring "stewardship" I'm sure they'd all be at it.
I did want to ask the opinion of some of you who I'm sure know more about finance than I do. Regarding this 1.5 billion "loan" that Chelski have, presumably this counts as an "asset" of Abramovich so presumably if action is taken against him then this could be part of that action. But how would it affect the loan? Since it doesn't appear to be required to be paid off will it make any difference if it is frozen? If it is frozen does that money stop being on the credit balance of Chelski? Could you clever people advise?
Another thing is does the loan even pay Abramovich interest? (A separate question is how did they get away with financing Chelski this way, because presumably if they could get away with it, presumably the Newcastle owners would be interested in using this method! But that's another matter, though would be interested if anyone knows if Chelski pay interest, or if the same scam could be used by Newcastle.)
