Surely the question with regards the Kane incident is what the **** is an experienced player like Lallana doing making that ridiculous challenge on the edge of the box, Kane is waiting for him thats not in question, but Lallana must know that he cannot win the ball fairly so I think he is also trying to be clever and hoping that he gets the foul for Kane making the back. They get given both ways seen loads of matches where these are given either way, on this occasion I think the clumsiness of Lallanas effort has convinced all of the officials that he was the offender hence the decision in our favour.

Exactly, Lallana puts the ref in a position where he has to make a decision, no different to a player diving in recklessly in the box. Of course it’s clever from Kane to position himself in that way and of course he knows what he’s doing but if I was a Brighton fan I’d be far more furious at Lallana, an experienced player, being so reckless around the box.

If we’re going to give Kane stick it should be for his dive in the box later in the game, which I think was roundly condemned on here, and he should cut it out of his game.

He did have every right to go for the ball. He didn't get it and got Kane, instead. That's called a foul.
Kane knowing that he was going to be fouled doesn't undo it, somehow. It's a stupid challenge from the ex-Scouser.
err Lallana played the ball whilst Kane played the man therefore the actual foul was committed by Kane . The fact our refs are so incompetent they can't see what is in front of them* doesn't alter that .

" Yours yesterday was a bit "special even by their standards .

that would be true if Kane had stayed still but he didn't instead he moved backwards into Lallana .
He's allowed to move towards Lallana and get between him and the ball. Someone jumping doesn't change that.
Lallana initiates contact with his knee.

Kane broke no rules, it was clever forward play, he had a look and realized Lallana was coming, positioned himself between Lallana and the ball and waited for Lallana to clatter into him. There is nothing in the rules that says Kane can not do what he did, the argument that Kane looks at Lallana and not the ball is nonsense, so what, he is perfectly within his rights to do so.

There was some diving going on in the game elsewhere however, which is poor to see, both Son and Trossard appeared to dive. I think the players were all watching Match of The Day and saw Mo Salahdive rewarded for his theatrics, and thought they would try the same. Unfortunately, they were not wearing a red shirt and so wasting their time.

So the two foreign players were diving but Harry Engerland Kane is just clever.
Should just rename this thread Gary ex spur Linekers motd thread
<laugh>

But not Kane?

Gerrard was pretty good at it tbh, then again he was good at everything :emoticon-0165-muscl

Sucky read Huddlefros post and the match day thread - Kanes dive in the 2nd half has been consistently mentioned and there is a consensus that we don't like it and that he should cut it out. The penalty was not a dive, and to be fair we didn't even appeal for a penalty, VAR changed the refs decision from free kick to penalty and I don't recall there being a crowd of Spurs players around the ref suggesting that the original decision was wrong.

Disgrace.

I'm not gonna lie. I think that's a penalty. Anywhere else on the pitch and it's given as a foul. Lallana jumps into Kane well before he makes contact with the ball. Kane doesn't really do anything apart from look at where Lallana is and then stand his ground.

Trust me. I hate Spurs (and Kane) more than you. But if that challenge had been done to one of our players, and we didn't get a foul, I'd be quite pissed off.

Right decision IMO.
