Spurlock I think it's a shame because you are destined to be disappointed unless Spurs are sold to a Sheikh putting us in a similar position to Man City. If we were by the way I wouldn't see much point in following Spurs and I would pack it in. I have no desire to follow a team that just buys cups as I see little point. I already mentally ignore City, whatever they do is of no interest to me. Only if somebody beats them do I take notice. Professional football is already severely damaged by all the money sloshing around. It wouldn't be so bad if they used it to make the game cheap for fans to see as they do in Germany but they don't. In fact it has never been so expensive to watch a team like Spurs and this excluded a lot of traditional Spurs fans who can no longer afford to go. Since ENIC have owned Spurs they have developed the infrastructure that will serve the club for years and with the high prices charged will produce a much bigger income to enable even more money to be recycled to buy players. You support a team that is one of the elite already and yet here you are complaining about not spending enough. You have to be joking Spurlock or have you just lost sight of what a million pounds represents. You talk about reaching another level. Where is this level? Is there a higher place than the Champions League Final? Is there a league above the PL? Are you so rich you think spending 100 million is peanuts? If you are that rich why don't you make an offer to the club?
I watch football, when Spurs win I smile, when they lose I don't feel so happy for half an hour and then I start enjoying the rest of my life again. We have just had a few good years with Pochettino and seen lots of Spurs winning games. Right now it's more of a chore watching them but we can still beat Arsenal. You seem to be a supporter of Mourinho so you will soon have a new season to look forward to. Jose says he doesn't need many players, if he means it we have to bow to his greater knowledge surely?
Sure we have had a poor season by Spurs recent standards but with a team containing at least 6 new faces we can maybe look forward to a different look next season. I am talking about the players who have joined this season. Then a couple more and Jose promising winning ways lots to look forward to. And all thanks to ENIC. :emoticon-0100-smile

We built the stadium on a promise..im waiting for the return

I watch football for the glory not just enjoyment...as for disappointment, so be it doesn’t mean I’m going to shift my opinion to fit in with a happy medium. I’ll just keep on expressing my disappointment.

The stadium is here, the 5 years are up...I’m waiting for the next big move. I wish I’d noted all the posters who were giving it large about the glory coming when we were in about year 3 under Poch whilst others, minute number but some were recognising that the time was then when it was all happening on the pitch...and now I’m the nose that is out of joint because I won’t shut up and crack on with the next promise?

I’m happy enough with life and Spurs without living in a bubble when it comes to the owners and no I’m not that rich that 100 mill is nothing but Im not talking about me I’m talking about a football club the owners value at north of a Billion quid! I also know we pay the highest season ticket prices and in the world of PL football with all the other revenue attached nowadays...what Levy does is the very least he can do without making it obvious that he hasn’t got a serious interest in glory on the pitch.

My vision isn’t in line with Levy’s...it’s a great piece of fortune every turn he makes most of you think it’s fine...I don’t think that and I express it. He’s no use for the football, he’s great for filling Uncle Joes pockets, I have zero interest in that. Barren windows when Poch needed backing instead we got excuse after excuse from a section of the fan base even when it was evident in the manager’s pressers that he is frustrated but tried to remain professional...I don’t want to just forget that because after all it’s just entertainment.

Levy wont take us any further....only glory on the pitch will take us further and that requires worthwhile backing not ****in loan signings or replacing a player 3 windows after he left. He’s the equivalent of a manager who has taken the squad as far as possible, just because we are stuck with him doesn’t mean I’m all for him...i’ll live with it, doesn’t mean I have to like it.

I can’t believe you want me to think like I’m a business man before thinking like someone who loves the badge. I’ve got Netflix and such like for entertainment...I’m here for the glory, hence the singing, shouting, the club colours adorned, our children heavily influenced into choosing the team we follow, songs of players in years gone by, knowledge of the history, ****ing tears when necessary and you think it’s just for enjoyment like I’m at the pictures sippin on a Diet Coke watching the latest Disney instalment.

Spurlock I don't want you to think like a business man I was just replying to your comments. You have expressed yourself and your view very eloquently in that last paragraph, how can I argue with that. It explains your frustrations and your expectations and although I may not share quite that view we can share wanting our team to do well. Thank you for your reply.

Utd may have conceded a 96th minute equaliser, but you certainly can't blame Harry Maguire for it.
He did a fantastic man-marking job from that corner. It was against his own player, but still...

And to be fair that player didn't score. Job done.

Very clever of Southampton to equalise in the last minute to deny the opportunity for a Manure player to fall over in in the opposing penalty area and get the winner from a non-penalty. Also I was amazed how quickly Fernandes recovered from that broken leg. I was going to say something else but it was totally inappropriate at this time. Condolences to Serge and his family

I'm sure that he'll struggle to find a job with Sky, BT, Amazon, BeinSports or one of the American channels.
Apparently staying with ITV. Though what matches they'll have outside of World and European Cups & Internationals I am not sure. Doesn't sound like it needs more than one very often.
He's decent enough as a commentator though isn't he?

If he wasn’t English and playing for Utd then the media would treat him very differently, imo he’s bang average and turns slower than a bin lorry.

<laugh> When the bin lorry comes to my village it just drives in and reverses out no turning involved. As a number 5 a reverse gear is important but of course you can't expect a United player to see the need when falling off the jack produces better results.

<laugh> Did I take that analogy too far?

Just heard an interesting interview with an Honest Manchester United Spokesman ("HMUS"):

Interviewer: So you must be happy with your new signings?

HMUS: Yes indeed, I think John Moss has come on very well, although he needs to referee more than half of our matches, and of course he needs more support from the team.

Interviewer: How so?

HMUS: Well he gave that second penalty against Tottenham but Bruno needed to be a bit more theatrical with his dive. We've hired a drama coach to help him.

Interviewer: Obviously he didn't get a yellow for diving.

HMUS: Obviously (laughs).

Interviewer: And Bruno Fernandes is clearly the best player ever to play football.

HMUS: Of course, all the pundits agree. And he did up his game against Villa with quite a spectacular dive that got the required result.

Interviewer: But it was later said to be a bad decision.

HMUS: Yes but we already had the penalty by then, and it was the first goal of the game. It's important that the authorities say things like this sometimes, so the public don't realise how much they are in our pocket. The fact that nothing changes afterwards is the most important thing.

Interviewer: So you must be happy with the number of penalties?

HMUS: Absolutely not! We aim to get at least one penalty in every game. If not all that time we spend cheating is wasted.

Interviewer: But you've already had 78 penalties this season.

HMUS: And we need more, look what happened last night when we didn't get a penalty. The thing is that if we continue to get all those penalties it seems nobody realises that we are not that good. As long as we keep winning, everyone seems to forget how much penalties have contributed to our success.

Interviewer: And Olly is doing well now.

HMUS: Who cares. We've spent hundreds of millions over the past few years, and have a wage bill bigger than what the entire population of some countries earn, so I guess just about any manager should be able to do as well.

etc etc

Still waiting for a single word from David Baddiel about Claude from AFTV using a racial slur to describe Son - or Claude's feeble attempt to pretend that he didn't
What did he say - I didn't catch that myself.
And BTW why does Baddiel's opinion matter anyway?

Edit - saw it on Reddit. Have to say I have never heard that slur myself, but if it is racial, then he can't go on air again.

It's been aimed at Son a few times, most notably from Millwall fans in the FA Cup a few years ago, and last season by a West Scam fan - who was charged over it
