An interesting article regarding Jim Ratcliffe's purchase of the French club, Nice.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49625064

His brother confirms that they enquired about purchasing Chelsea but that the two parties were "a long way apart on valuation". Not surprising given that the asking price has been indicated to have started at £2.5 billion.

Chelsea FC for all their recent success, are an illusion as a business. The club are in an antiquated stadium, don't own their own pitch, can't find a site to relocate to, can't finance stadium development, lose money season on season (without Abramovic's annual loan) and are probably worth less than the level of investment over the last 15 years.

The longer that state of affairs continues, the better. Roman can afford to keep them in the Top 6 but as their competitors progress and expand they will become ever more reliant on handouts that eventually will come to an end, probably under a new owner.
That also explains why our interest in Youcef Atal stopped dead during the summer...

Looked up Football BBC and two articles stood out. "Ericson perfectly happy at Spurs, says Poch"". and Ericson will be exchanged for an Italian in January.
Perhaps they really mean "Ericson happy to move in January???"

Caught a quick glimpse of the United pen at HT in our match. Not sure about that one, but apparently United are entitled to a pen each match so...

Zinchenko should have been booked for diving. Clearly trying to get a player sent off for nothing.

I can understand why the ref doesn't give it as he may be wondering if he's missed something but that's where VAR should be able to step in. Video tech disrupts the fan experience at games regardless and if it's going to be justifiable then it needs to intervene more often, not less.
