In their final two CL matches + the last 10 mins of the third, Liverpool lost by a combined score of 9-3.
If you concede 9 goals in 200 mins, you won't win much.
For all their talk, their defence remains a massive liability.

For me, their problems begin in midfielld.

Henderson, Milner, Wijnaldum? And you expect to win a CL final?

Noooo! Did you miss the memo? The narrative is now that the defence are fine after spending 75m on one player.

I swear that it's a form of mass psychosis. Stan Collymore's stopped dogging for 5 minutes to write this.......

"I am talking about wandering into White Hart Lane, plonking £150m on the table in front of Daniel Levy and saying: ‘I’ll give you that for Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld and Dele Alli.’

<laugh>
You stupid Mouser.

And Levy replies
"have you hub cap stealing loons been sniffing petrol again?"

Conte gives up

Italian PM-designate Giuseppe Conte has given up his bid to form a government after the country's president vetoed his choice of economy minister.

Thanks to Liverpool losing their final, we are in Pot 2 for next season’s champions league. They would have been in Pot 1 as holders but now are likely to be in Pot 3 unless Benfica and Basel fail to qualify.

Pondering this more, I came up with the following "thought experiment" :

If an ex-Spurs went full Collymore, which 3 current Poool
players would they plonk 150m on the table in front of FSG
saying "I’ll give you that for ..." ??

They'd probably pay US half a billion to take their keeper, so if we added £150M we'd probably get their entire squad.

That Scottish left back is a very decent looking player and the 2 flyers, Salah and Mane. If you take the latter 2 out of their team, it's pretty ordinary. It's no coincidence that Firmino is suddenly a better player with defences ****ting themselves about Salah's pace. Klopp sets them up to get the most out of them but I don't see any of their midfield players getting beyond the bench with us.

Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn't suddenly become a better player, he's just got real pace in front of him causing the opponents' defences to drop deep and giving him space in which to run with the ball. If he'd played for England this summer, he'd be the same disappointing player that he's always been. The same with Henderson. Unfortunately, we'll get to see plenty of him in Russia. Personally. I wish that he was captain. It's not going to end well and I'd rather Harry wasn't in for what's coming.

I would take both the fullbacks from the weekend - Robertson and Alexander- Arnold both look good prospects and are important to the way pool play, and Salah, just because Saturday showed they are something of a one man team

Salah, Brewster and Robertson.
