Douglas Jardine: There is an inherent cultural smugness at Chelsea that happens every other year. It isn’t the manager’s fault. It is a lack of imagination to aspire to be perpetually successful. As a season ticket holder, I’m as much to blame as the players, staff and owner!

Somebody else said it, so that doesn't count as a jynx...right?

Nobody will miss the first 2. Southampton have been a decent club, playing good football.

It should be West Ham.....<wah>
Southampton kinda deserve it for their managerial choices, though.
Claude Puel got them to a final and 8th place in his first season, yet they still felt the need to sack him, for some reason.
Now he's in 8th again and they're getting relegated, having sacked his replacement and installed a guy who managed one of the other sides going down.
I really don't have an issue with Saints and there are various sides that I'd prefer to see gone, but this is self-inflicted.

I've been impressed by Lascelles. Does the basics so well and with minimal fuss. Quite the contrast to Arsenal's clowns.

Arsenal's away form in the league this year:
Bournemouth 2-1 Arsenal.
Swansea City 3-1 Arsenal.
Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Arsenal.
Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 Arsenal.
Newcastle United 2-1 Arsenal.

Newcastle cross the 40 point mark. Good performances from ex-Spur Yedlin and linked-Spur Lascelles.

Burnley now just 2 points behind them.

Win at Brighton and St Arsehole's day will be confirmed with 4 games still to play. If that isn't motivation enough to get the 3 points we can do one.
