He just gave a very honest interview to Sky, most unlike him but nice to see.

Haven't seen what he said but he couldn't make excuses after having a go at Conte for it and he couldn't complain about defensive football after last week so there was nussing he could say that wouldn't make him look stupid.

Jose Mourinho: "The team that wanted it more won. When the best team wins there is nothing to say.

"I don't know why they wanted it more. I won’t be critical of my players in the media. I will analyse the game and, if I need to, I will criticise them.

"I was surprised by our performance, I was not expecting that. The team that started with emotion, aggression, intensity and desire, the team that played the game of their lives was the team that won.

"Maybe in the second half we wanted it a little more and maybe we could get a draw, but I honestly think we deserved the punishment of the defeat."

I hate the little prick but I can't argue with any of that. Unfortunately.

I won't be critical of my players in the media, he says, being critical of his players in the media! <laugh>

The Goons may not win tomorrow either.

If that comes to pass, then this weekend plus the
immense self-belief the squad + manager will
take from the Madrid game should be motivation
enough for a decisive win tomorrow against the Poool.

Should be...I'm keen to see if the 'maturity' tag has been earned.

If we can be smart we can win tomorrow..we know how to play against teams like Pool now....let's see if we can turn up with the right application

If we beat Liverpool,it will be the 3rd season we will be chief chasers of the leaders. United are too up and down.
But City are enjoying beating up the little 'uns!

To be fair to Maureen I think he meant that he was not going to pick on individual players in the media. Having said that he's probably going to have to pick on all of the players individually in private so there is a convergence between the two interpretations.

For me, the United players didn't want to be in Huddersfield on a wet cold autumnal afternoon, they don't get paid enough money for that (tic), god help them if they have to go to Sid James Park on a wet, cold February evening. Fortunately for them, the fixture gods normally avert that banana skin.

Not taking anything away from Huddersfield though, it was their cup-final, a bit like the Spam when they play us. They were up for it, went for it and thoroughly deserved their three points. It's not easy beating 12 men, How Martial and Young remained on the pitch for 90 minutes is beyond me.

Cockneys versus scouses today and more salt rubbed into Everton's wounds but for us I just don't know.

Goons have started well unfortunately, about twice the tempo of Everton. Sanchez had a sure fire penalty denied inside the first couple of minutes. Come on you toffees.
