"Which England manager looked most like an owl?"
You must log in or register to see images

Seems to be a nice enough bloke and he had a very respectable career, but I think his day is done and he should retire, honestly.
Allardyce's decision to leave the game has resulted in someone eight years older than him getting the job.

Can you imagine Allardyce staying away from football for long.......anyway,he may need the money!!!!?

Palace chairman Steve Parish was at Turf Moor on Sunday, and said afterwards: "It's a terrible start but we have to stick together.

"People are frustrated, I'm frustrated, so are the management and players. We know we are better than this.

"I'm defending everyone at the club who is working their backside off to turn this around. Football teams lose games. It happens.

"Who has the better squad, us or Burnley? We had a much weaker squad when we finished 11th. The buck stops with me; I've never run away from that."

Except the manager.

So resign.

Liverpool are appealing Mane's three-match ban.

Errrr...on what grounds will this appeal get accepted?

Actually, this is the F.A. we are talking about here...Given their ridiculous decision making in the past, this could genuinely go either way.

Should be deemed a frivolous appeal and stuck with an extra game. It's just a blatant red.
If he'd made that tackle on a defender's knee then nobody would even have questioned it.
Kick a keeper in the face and people are talking about it being a big chance and him having to go for it. <doh>

The rules are clear. Intent (which is subjective anyway) doesn't come into the equation. It was high, reckless and could have seriously harmed an opponent. Red card.

If the 3 game ban gets overturned, farcical would be an understatement.

Genuinely, I would love to know what supporting evidence they have to justify their decision to appeal.

It did seriously harm an opponent. The guy had a couple of holes in his face.

Judging by the apologists online and on punditry sofas, it will be because he...
a.) Didn't mean it
b.) Isn't that sort of player
c.) Ederson was asking for it

I actually agree with a. He didn't mean it and he wasn't being malicious. Doesn't mean it wasn't red, though.

The other two points have really annoyed me. He is that sort of player and Ederson didn't do anything wrong at all.
Mane should normally get sent off in every other game he plays against us. He dives everywhere and makes bad fouls all the time.
That doesn't suddenly change because he's an important player for Liverpool.

According to one particular Mouser, you'll know who if you've spent more than 10 seconds on their board, it wasn't a red card because he didn't go to hospital for facial reconstruction.

Was Stevie G the only player ever to have a 3 game ban reduced to 2 games for a straight red card? If so, that might have encouraged them?
