2-0 HT. Goals from Keane and Gueye.
Really think we missed a trick by not signing Lookman when we were linked with him.
I think he'd have suited us well as a pacy option out wide.

I'd have gone for him but would he get in Marcus Edwards' way or vice versa? Also, he would have looked at Erik Lamela and our other players behind Harry Kane and decided that his options would be limited. I'm pretty certain that OS said we were well aware of him but chose not to pursue it.

Good to see another club promoting young English players, though. They also paid a hefty fee to a club that needed the money which is also good to see.

Yeah, but that will be because the shirt you are
currently wearing has a brand logo on it that
upsets a major UEFA sponsor.
And they'll ignore me elbowing someone in the face. Sounds about right.

Why did Man U pull out all the stops to win the EL pot while we used the tournament as a reserve outing?

p.s. The Celtic manager over the moon after their win.I think my old Sunday League team would have beaten those visitors too!

For the exact same reason: qualifying for the Champions League.

Harry and Poch both saw the tournament as a hindrance to the team's league form and (as a result) a barrier to qualifying for the CL, so just like the League Cup they ditched the tournament as soon as they could.

Moronho saw the tournament as the only way he could get Man Utd into the Champions League and, as a result, remain employed by one of the few teams left that can help him realise his managerial ambitions by having a bottomless pit of money and a complete lack of shame.

I'm more flummoxed by Man City fluttering their chequebook at West Brom for Jonny Evans. I mean we all know Stones and Otamendi have a competition between them to see who can look less like a Top 4-quality centre back, but still...
It's not the £22mill they are supposedly offering but the wage of possibly £130,000 pw.
Danny-is he worth it?

But we had more chance of winning the EL than the CL.I guess the only ones wanting to win anything were the fans...as usual! But who are they?

Before kick off the talksport match build up stated it was "a chance for united to cement their lead at the top of the table!"
<laugh>

You can only beat the teams in front of you
It does help when they're utter, utter **** though, doesn't it?
West Ham with injuries and Swansea when their best player just left and they haven't had a chance to buy anyone.
It's still two 4-0 wins to start off the season, though. Can't knock that.

Great for building confidence.
It's been like an extended pre-season.
Harder tests lie ahead, but the real issue for Utd will be whether this team can turn all those draws into wins. Having 65% possession and numerous attempts at goal, but drawing 1-1 is no good.
Throw 20 points away like last season and 5th or 6th place beckons. Win those 20 extra points and Utd are in a title race.
