An Arsenal player scored the second, rather ironically. Their first team somehow managed to avoid doing that in either game.

Moyes cannot even bank on a CL trophy courtesy of Spurs finishing 4th in the PL.

If/when Moyes goes, who's the favourite to take over? Ferguson to return? Or Bruce Arena due to the Yank owners.

I would say that normally Utd would be far more patient than many other clubs, and that Moyes would be given ample opportunity to stamp himself on the club, get his ideas across, etc. However, they are now a fairly large public company, with shareholders to keep happy. The value of those shares has already been quite badly hit by their lack of success this season. How long that can be tolerated before shareholder pressure forces the board to act, is the question!..

PLC shareholders tend to act when their divvies are under threat.
Dunno if Man Utd have paid out any since becoming a PLC.
If the Glazers loan terms are threatened by Man Utd declining (payment terms worsen etc) ,
    then they won't hang around.

  10. United standing behind Moyes (as they will do, in the same way that Mad Dog has desperately stood behind flop Torres) is now looking like the biggest embarrassment in world football.

So sad for a club that once was the biggest in the world, but is now going the same way as Leeds.

Roy Keane, the failed manager, mouthing off again, he's found his place on TV. No pressure on him to prove he can manage as it's easier to just rant at English teams!

Moyes is one year into a six year contract. When they discussed the contract, they must have mentioned backing him in a worse case scenario, in his first season. Have they gone past it? Or genuinely do they believe in writing off this season for the bigger picture.

But if Moyes is sacked, he's going to be paid one hefty compensation package.

I think they'll stick with him for now due to Fergie's influence over the decision to hire him, his position at board level and the culture of giving managers time. Firing him would send them back to the dark days of the late 80's.

Still, six years is a long contract Moyes should have been made to earn such a contract.

Fergie should have retired completely, not hover around and have influence as great managers don't necessarily give good advice after their career, so if fergie is still having an influence, it means he's making the job harder for Moyes.

I don't know, Barca trying to plead innocence after paying £11.2m in unpaid tax is pretty embarrassing...

It says a lot that the Spanish tax authorities had more to say about Barca telling porkies about Neymar's transfer fee than UEFA have. So much for Financial Fair Play, eh?
