Fergie definitely quit at the right time.
Bit sorry for Moyes if he turns out to be nothing more than a sacrificial lamb for
whatever the Glazers are (not) doing.

But also a bit nasty of Fergie too (if he knew the Glazers aren't fronting up the transfer money needed etc) .

Things can change so quickly. If you are no longer the Empire, then you no longer have the lure of
guaranteed silverware to attract players. Which means you have more likelihood on having to sign mercs
(with all the wage bill and team spirit aggro they often bring) .

Vidic sent off for a reckless, frustrated challenge on Hazard. Fully deserved, but I'm sure Moyes won't agree.

A red is usually guaranteed in these kind of games because of frustration and a bit of rashness.
Remember Paulinho. Surprised we never had any reds when Citeh mauled us.

Rafael should be off for that, too. Studs up and two-footed, even if he cleanly got the ball and it was from the side.

I pondered weeks ago whether the Fergie factor was worth about 15 pts.
The current gap to Citeh is 13 pts.

They have had RVP and Rooney out for a bit at various times, but Citeh also
had stop-start weekly progress in the first third of the season.

Yes and No, if you play the ball without playing the player it ought to be allowed in my opinion. I know others think differently but a good old fashioned sliding tackle is an art form if executed properly.

Just seen the goals, that is arguably the sloppiest hat trick I've ever seen.

EDIT: Sorry, not arguably, unquestionably.

Ferguson was there again today, his shadow looming large over David Moyes:

Apparently that's Mick Hucknall on the right and not some random homeless man with some new clothes from a shelter.

EVERTON LATEST

While you gather your thoughts on the events at the Bridge, here's some news from another side interested at the top of the table, Everton.

Lacina Traore is due to have medical at Everton.

It was believed the 6ft 8in striker was on his way to West Ham.

But Sam Allardyce confirmed yesterday that despite reaching an agreement with Monaco, to bring the 23-year old on loan to Upton Park, it was unlikely the Ivory Coast international would complete the move.

I like Traore. Wouldn't mind if we did to Everton what they appear to have done to the Spammers! <laugh>
Not sure where he fits in at Goodison, though. Can't see Martinez playing both him and Lukaku together.

Nah, it's a stright red card offence everytime it's done near a player. Even if Cahill(?) felt he could've got the ball there, he wouldn't have gone for it as he'd have got his leg broken if he did.

Thought the red and yellow were the wrong way around, to be honest, not that it affected the result. United really missed having a proper striker in that game, Welbeck just isn't that kind of player and it showed as a number of good balls went into the area with him nowehere near them.

So just the result tomorrow pending.
And then N days of trying to get all our best physio'd back four and DMs fit enough to feature
in some way against Citeh.
