Speaking of fashion, how is it so many hooligans (and wannabe hooligans) wear Stone Island jackets when they average about £450 a piece!? The sort of people that wear wouldn't really be associated with the type of person that can fork out that sort of money on a jacket. I like the look of some Stone Island clothing but **** me I'd never pay those prices.

Is there a market stall I don't know about that sells decent gear for knocked off prices or does hooliganism pay a wage...? If it's the latter I might be interested in applying for a job as the money must be good! I'll happily get my head kicked in for a few grand every now and then <laugh>

Do you remember that Spurs fan who ran on the pitch to try and thump Fatty Frank a few years ago ?? Didn't he have a super well paid job ?? Believe he was a solicitor or something like that.

They're not necessarily in poorly paid jobs.

I guess some of them are nicked anyway. Graffers always seem to have a Northface and I used to hear stories about them racking whole rails at a time out of stores. Schott jackets when I was a kid were similar, there was always someone at school selling nicked ones.

Yeah I remember him, didn't know he was in that sort of profession though.

I'm not going to mug off the in-house lawyer we have at our place anymore, may end up bottling me! <laugh>

Yeah a few years back I knew a guy selling stuff nicked from the back of lorries so I suppose it's a case of who you know plus the fact that like you say, not all are in poorly paid jobs.

I have a north face jacket, wear it regularly to games.

Had about 3 Schott jackets during my time in school, you were officially cool if you owned a Schott jacket back in my school! <cool>

SOS, who you kidding pal, we know you're mates with all these dodgy folk! <laugh>

I remember back at secondary school, final year, we had knock off Ralph Lauren jackets, looked as smart as anything, wouldn't surprise me if most are knock off's or stolen, and the designer clothes are the hooligans uniform, have to be seen with their labels, even if they are covered in beer, blood and other peoples dna come the end of the weekend!

Yeah, nothing wrong with a North Face just saying that graffers definitely weren't spending £200 on a jacket.

Anyway enough fashion talk, this thread was about football before you started changing the subject :p
 
You can get Stone Island jackets for £50. They might be fakes, but I can't tell.

I've got a nice Duck and Cover summer coat, and a big ****-off Firetrap coat for the winter. It's important to have a nice coat in this cold, wet and windy country.

Haha back in my school days I could get anything for a good price, whether it be a PS3 to a Rolex, in my school you could get it (probably why we were ranked bottom in the school tables, everyone was too busy robbing and getting knocked off gear to actually care about education). Nowadays I have to search Ebay to see if I can grab myself a bargain! Lol.

Yeah definitely, a Stone Island badge at a football match is definitely the dress code/ uniform that indicates they're up for a tear up (or they're a person pretending to be a person up for a tear up!).

Nah weren't saying you were mate. Haha mine was only £40, it's a rain mac but keeps me fairly warm down the Lane in winter months, well worth the dosh.

I'm from the generation of the Naf Naf jacket, or as I called them Twat Twat jackets. Frankly, 2/3 of my school were asking for it given they were walking around with this on their backs...

That's one thing I liked about my school: the way to look tough was to walk to school in a T shirt (and no coat) when there was a foot of snow on the ground. Interestingly, all umbrellas left on porches on anyone's school route always disappeared. Presumably there were a lot of kids without jackets who had nice umbrella collections.

I'm sure it's not even the right part of the country, but the thought of some white vest wearing hillbilly with a sawed off and a dozen colourfull umbrellas has tickled me! <laugh>

Hooligan fashion all goes back to guess who in the 70's/80's...the Mousers, their regular trips abroad in the European Cup gave them the opportunity to rob designer gear, then wear it at the next league game, and so it became tit for tat as opposite fans wanted to match and better the gear. Chelsea fans went through a Burberry stage...amongst many others. Jeans were important, 501's and Pepe were popular until the Mousers started turning up with their chored Armani and Hugo Boss.
