You've got to admit the camel jockeys at the emirates like to beat up on the little boys at the bottom of the table. We seem to have a trouble doing the same.........
Borussia looked good, and based on last year are better than any PL side. But I think their away form has been poor, and Arsenal did not look good, I thought. It's one thing to be taken out of your game by Borussia's pressing, but another to not respond, and a third to fail to create any real chances. Arsenal's goal was due to farcical keeping by Dortmund. I worry that Wenger may eventually realize they are a much better team with Cazorla playing in the middle. It's been a year and a half, it's sure to dawn on him eventually. It only took a year or two for him to realize Vermaelen was a goal machine for the other side. Ozil's an outstanding player, no doubt, but loses little or nothing playing on the flank. Their chances of losing to Palace, on the other hand, look slim and fat. You know, fat chance.
14 Shots to their 12, 57% Spurs possession, 6 corners to their 3. We were the better side but lost to a single classy strike. However, those sort of strikes need luck to be on your side, it was for the goons that day, that's why they were lucky to beat us.
Hate to agree with the Arsenal fans but we didn't deserve anything from that game, Arsenal defended in numbers well in the second half and we didn't really create much against them. In the first half we played right into their hands, pushing forward naively and giving their players space to get running.
More people preferred to watch the Great British Bake Off than Arsenal, even the Bun desliga side Dortmund unable to im prove the viewing figure...at yeast it won't happen again as it was the Final ..the GBBO that is....in yer dreams gooners.
The only way I give Palace a chance is if Arsenal are knackered after their efforts last night. If Palace give a high energy performance, they could catch them out. Not as if Arsenal have several players they can bring in to replace those that played. Wilshere will probably be injured now, Ramsay had a poor night and Ozil was way below his best. Could be a good time to play them. On balance, I think Palace will get stuffed, but some possibility of a different result.
Palace have only had an extra days rest on them! I'm sure they'll beat Palace comfortably. They could probably play Bendtner, Gnabry and a few other fringe players and still win.
To be honest we were pony at the Emirates. The only positive is that the fact we were so ****, Arsenal only managed to score one goal and that was down to a defensive lapse from the defence. Rose was miles out of position and Dawson and Vertonghen let Giroud slip through too easily. Arsenal weren't good though that day either. It was just pretty much **** vs very **** and **** just about won. We're still playing at about 70% capacity, players are still needing to adapt and others are yet to reach top form, I'd say Arsenal are probably playing some of their best stuff in a while and the fact we're only 3 points behind is an encouraging sign in my opinion. Though what is disappointing is that some of the players go missing in the big games, we've only got 1 point from three London derbies, two of them home games and quite frankly that's not good enough, we'll need to play better against the better sides if we're to push on and prove our credentials.
Palace are gonna get trounced. Arsenal will be even more up for it after losing to Dortmund and Palace just look woeful, definitely going to be the whipping boys this season.
Anyone seen the state of the pitch City are on in Moscow, there's so many bare patches the russians are spraying it green!! just seen the pics of it on Sky. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24630522
"Borussia looked good, and based on last year are better than any PL side. But I think their away form has been poor, and Arsenal did not look good" They played ok, but looked like they had a few more gears if required. The Goons OTOH, who arguably are playing best in the PL to date, did not unduly threaten them.
"Anyone seen the state of the pitch City are on in Moscow" Perhaps we should be grateful we got the Anzhi game done and dusted before the proper Russian autumn weather sets in.
True, but Palace have only had one game in a week and Arsenal two. And they were given an almighty run around by Dortmund. Leave me alone when I am clutching at straws
I read it that the same bout of bad weather that softened the Anzhi pitch also damaged the City pitch, it got wrecked just over a month ago, its absolutely shocking what they've achieved (or haven't!) in that time. Aren't CSKA the other club Abramovich owns?, if it is its not like money should be an issue. I'm glad ours done too, just a trip into the Arctic Circle to go!...brrr!
"just a trip into the Arctic Circle to go" Artificial pitch + undersoil heating. If Adebayor plays with gloves +/- long-sleeved shirt, he should be fined 4 weeks wages.
As long as its not like the last artificial pitch fiasco.....Young Boys!! ...I think I'm right in remembering that Hudd and Lennon whinged constantly about footwear and didn't want to play on it at all, Palacios couldn't cope with the bounce, ****in nightmare first half hour! Can't recall if it was the one where Pav went on and Harry told him 'just fackin runabout and get me a goal'...he got the goal!
