Utterly unbelievable!
There is a thread currently running over on the Gooner board (entitled "What are our realistic expectations for next season?") - note the use of the word "realistic" - to which a good number of the usual suspects have been making posts, in which they (the usual suspects - not the intelligent Gooners) have been trying to assess their realistic expectations for next season. Naturally, within a very short time, they've managed to whip themselves up into a man-cream-spewing frenzy with all of them telling us that they'll be challenging for the title.
I'm not making this up! Go and read it for yourselves.
This is the team that had more luck in the EPL last season than any other side, and yet still managed only to just about scrape into the Top 4 on the very last day of the season, a massive one point ahead of us, who have the worst strike-force in any division anywhere in the world and with us having been beset with injury the whole season. It's also the team that finished so far behind United that, if I were to put this on a galactic scale, it would be like me predicting that next season NASA will be sending a manned space rocket to Proxima Centauri (the nearest star to our own Sun), which is 4.22 light years away, and would take the rocket around 18,000 years to get to. Ask even the dimmest Gooner if he thought it realistic that NASA would succeed with its mission, and he recognise that most of the astronauts on board the rocket would be dead by the time it arrived at the star; but ask the same dim Gooner to rate his chances of winning the title next season and he'd be the one counting down the lift-off for that very rocket!
Unbelievable!
