The 7 points we got from United away, Spurs at home and Villa away in 6 days is looking massive now because otherwise it really would be in the balance going into the last day. We have to beat Everton.

Whilst Arsenal are clear favourites to get 4th now we shouldn't forget that they haven't won at St James' Park since Newcastle got promoted. Sunderland won't be push overs though.

I think you guys underestimate Newcastle. Or overestimate Arsenal.

I think it's turned into last season again for us, Chelsea look set to win a European trophy and you look set to hold out and pip us again.

It won't necessarily happen but I don't think any of us held out much hope for the Newcastle game.

If Chelsea lose tomorrow I'll be full of hope, history hopefully won't be repeating.

You must be extremely superstitious. The kind of guy that has lucky pants <laugh>

I would prefer us being the under dog going into last game.

When the pressure is off and we have the points we always **** it up.

I'm hopeful lady luck appears this weekend. She is long overdue, chavs last year along with Fulop, lasagne gate and narrowly missing out before.

Surely something lucky will happen this year for us.

Is anyone on here a chef? Wondering if they can rustle up a quick lasagne and send it to Arsenal's pre-match meal :emoticon-0100-smile

You think we're falling for that one ? You were 11 pts ahead last season and 8 pts ahead this season - End of season ****ty squits are your speciality <ok>

Newcastle fan here, our last two home games were the 6-0 to Liverpool and the 3-0 to Sunderland...

The players and staff owe the fans a good performance so all is not lost yet :)

Renewed hope then :)

flaspur and tots, I know why we're short, and how we do in CL if we got it can't be worse than City :), Lloris will be in goal for a start, and there's a quali to get through first, but its not about any of that, just want to finish above the goons, however unlikely.

I'd rather be in something which we can win. it's been 5 years since we won a trophy and I want some glory.

If I was an arsenal fan, I'd be tearing my hear out after 9 years without a trophy and the way they've gone from being incredible to just settling for the minimum that's needed.

Dropping into it next Feb is ok! :)

If you've got great goalscorers you win.If you have part time goalscorers you finish out of it!We've only had one consistent goalscorer this season and where we are is pretty incredible!
With one game to go what is the point in worrying about other teams if we don't win ourselves?
COYS!........Jermaine.Time to get your finger out, son!!!!

If AVB gets us fifth place it's:

1. A lower position than last season.
2. Better than we thought he'd do.
3. Not good enough.
4. Not a bad performance considering the wealth of our rivals.
5. Just enough to give him another chance for next season to improve.
6. If not we say goodbye.

2 & 4 but there should have been, "7 Bloody brilliant following Levy ****ing the start of the season by not doing his transfer business early enough"
