The Gooners really don't know what they want. I think they are all a bit shell-shocked, to be honest, especially PESKIE. One of the rank-and-file Gooners once described PESKIE's views on Whinger as being like "arranging deck-chairs on the Titanic." That cracked me up!
It's not so much an issue with Liverpool and Everton because that rivalry was never born out of hatred and bitterness like say... Arsenal and Spurs. There are just certain rivalries where a ground share could never happen.
I don't think that you've got a great handle on either rivalry, judging by that. They're pretty similar, even down to their origins.
I believe all four teams have shared a ground in the past............. p.s. Neil Warnock hopes to see Mark Hughes destroy another "team of his!" Ouch!!!!!!!
Can't say I know much about the Merseyside relationship but I believe it was akin to ours with Fulham. Everton played at Anfield, directors split and pulled in different directions hence formation of Liverpool FC. We all know about Arsenal and Spurs so needn't waste our time on that.
Highly doubtful but does anyone know if its a benefit, points wise, to share a ground? After all, you get an extra "home" game each season assuming both teams are in the same div of course. Or, are you more likely to say get 2 points from the 2 derbies instead of say 3?
It has always been a mystery to me why home advantage is so important, but if it is anything it has to be the crowd influence so I don't think the derby away match will benefit from this
I agree, it makes no sense why 11 v 11 in one place would play out differently in another location. Surely any crowd noise would be blocked out by the players. It is probably a self fulfilling prophecy with teams being more defensive away than at home, even though I can see no reason why this should happen.
