Villa won't have Watkins or Ramsey, and Emery's record against Guardiola is appalling, so you'll probably get your wish with that one.

Luton have apparently got between 11-14 first-team injuries, whereas we're virtually fully fit apart from Timber. So, whilst Arsenal shouldn't take any opponent for granted, unfortunately for them, I think it'd take a herculean effort and then some to leave our place with a result. Stranger things have happened in football, though.

The manager/players have nothing at stake whatsoever if Spurs do not finish 4th.

You could say that the Villa owners do, as the CL money next
season could be the difference between getting snared by
various FFP regimes or not. Thus you might expect some
downward "motivation" to be applied to their on-pitch personnel.

Dummett throwing away two points with a rugby tackle! <laugh>
Very, very stupid, yet you see them not being given fairly often.

Jhon Duran equalises for Villa. There I was thinking City would have a view to a kill the game off after going 1-0 up.

The top 3 are deluded if they think Spurs and Villa
are going to be a stroll. They will have to earn the pts,

That thing that Foden did, when he took a free-kick and kicked it in the net. Is that allowed?

Also, Zaniolo is ****ing useless. No idea what Conte saw in him.

I agree. It's more than likely that Spurs and/or Villa will make a huge dent in some team's challenge - perhaps in the NLD.
There's practically a quarter of the season left; plenty of time for some twists and turns.

just had a watch of the vid? What did he do that you think shouldn't be allowed?

I looked at it from the 3 angles (only halfway through the vid) and i didn't see anything inconspicious. Just looked like a normal free kick to me so wondering what i am missing out on

I was referring to our free-kicks being invariably hit straight into the wall.
I believe the tradition started with Harry Kane, ironically against Villa.

Hit the wall a decade ago, scored and then hit it every other time without the good bit.
Now all of our players do it for the sake of tradition, presumably.

Spurs and Villa have a common set of remaining opponents.
So for Spurs the aim has to be :

    1. take more pts from those games than Villa
    2. take the same pts, but have a better net GD

Villa also have the Europa League to play for and a mounting injury crisis.
Emery may and probably should prioritise winning a trophy, something he's pretty good at.

Villa should go hard on both fronts and trust
in fate not giving them a worsening injury list.
    The rationale being that :

    1. neither side can blow 4th place until probably May at the earliest
    (4 match rounds away)

2.. Except for utter collapse, Villa are in the EL via
the PL (so are not depending on winning the EL2 for that) .

How much weaker their EL2 starting XIs can be,
is a judgement that Emery will have to make.

I think their latest financial report could force his hand. Without CL money, they'll be the next team to fall to FFP, unless they sell Matty Cash to a glue factory.

Which way? Winning the Europa would be entry, as could 5th place.
