North London clubs really know how to drain you emotionally and mentally, don't they? Gah. please log in to view this image
Let's be honest here, in the spoken word (not sure about the spelling of one) we had two Frank's managing in the PL so had to differentiate in some way hence one became Frank and the other Fat Frank. Oh, and he is fat so also factual not mean.
They are a horrendous outfit, but watch them beat us next Tuesday. Aubameyang and Mudryk with the goals. I'm calling it.
I genuinely don't think that it's a good sign for you that he came on yesterday. Their starting selection was bizarre and he did a lot to correct it, despite missing chances. It would be ****ing hilarious if he scored a winner on Tuesday!
We've looked very weak in dealing with transitions and duels in recent weeks, and they have midfielders who are (generally) very good in those areas, even though they can't score. We are awful defensively and habitually make a series of blunders. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if they get a result against us next week.
Lampard's one win in 19 suggests otherwise, unfortunately. He genuinely doesn't know what he's doing.
Nah. Now that the pressure is off, you'll start playing with the same freedom and verve you had in the first half of the season. True, injuries haven't helped you at all, but you didn't lose the title last night. You lost it via dropping points in the three games prior. The draws against Soton and West Ham were particularly damaging.
They look tired, though. Legohead needs to change it up. Trossard, Tierney, Jorginho, Smith-Rowe and possibly even Nketiah need to come in. Holding also needs to be taken out back and shot, frankly.
To get PL game parity, Citeh still have 4 games to play. Two of which are CL ties against Madrid. So until the moment that they at least equal the pts total, if I were them lot I would keep calm.
last night was more of a mental battle, which City won. It just compounded the results you mention. I do wonder now though whether arsenals heads will drop, and there will be more very mixed results over the remaining matches.
You say this, but the players look emotionally and mentally drained. Whatever goodwill a lot of these players have built up this season, the senior and more experienced players especially have been a real let down since the Liverpool match. I do worry we could spiral and go on a really disgusting run. We’re lucky Champions League football has already been secured otherwise I’d be panicking a bit. Like PNP has also said, Arteta’s in game management and lack of rotation in certain areas is very confusing, especially when some of these players seem to be getting run into the ground, or don’t look fully fit. He needs to learn how to manage the squad better. It’s frustrating that he still doesn’t know how to do this after 3 years. Rob Holding has been a good servant to the club, and played a huge role in the two FA Cups we won in 2017 & 2020. But he’s not the required calibre at all. If he is still an Arsenal player come the 2023/24 season, I will be the one who needs a hair transplant next! As for for the title race, it’s very difficult to say we’d be worthy champions after losing 3 times to Man City in a season. Dropped points can happen anyway, but in big games, you need players to come good. Ours didn’t/couldn’t. I think City are just too good right now, unfortunately, and I expect them to win the treble.
