https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62992818 Based on this, and assuming they have not messed up big time on transfer fee losses (the Pogbas etc) , I can only assume that the club revenues where not enough to "zero sum" service the Glazers debt that year (so they had to eat into the usual profits to do so) . No doubt there will be a Swiss Ramble on this soon enough.
And on a Ramble note ... The interesting thing is that the difference in revenues between PL #1 and #7 is only 16m. I suspect that the reason for this is there was quite a lot of viewer interest in watching the games to finish 1-6 during the business end of the season (nothing was guaranteed, a few twists and turns along the way etc) .
I see Kyle Lafferty has been dropped from the NI squad due to an investigation into an alleged sectarian slur in a video. Meanwhile our friendly neighbours are clearly under the assumption that abusive language is worse than multiple rapes. Shame.
Interesting that we got two less matches than the filth and one less than Utd, but made more money. Seems like the league placing more than covered their extra payment for being gifted TV coverage.
It's a remarkably even spread compared to some major leagues our there. Relegated teams in La Liga for example receive up to 90% less than the likes of Real and Barca, iirc. as each team negotiates a deal directly with the broadcaster.
Ronaldo has been charged by the FA for smashing that kid's phone out of his hand. It's only taken five and a half months.
They changed that in 2015 as they realised they needed to try and have more competition ala the PL though the distribution is still weighted more in favour of the big clubs so in 20/21 the top earners were Athletico Madtid with 158m the lowest Eibar 48.5m.
And Eibar have to pay Matheus Pereira, Stoichkov and Zidane out of that. (Not that one, that one or that one.)
Can't find a better quality version of this Notts County goal, unfortunately: Premier League goal in a Vanarama League game.
Watford have sacked their manager. Again. I believe that I was given the job from 9am to 11am, but they sacked me before I realised. They've now appointed Slaven Bilic and it's believed that he'll be replaced by Sunday.
Watford fans had a song for Rob Edwards when he took charge of his first game in August. "He comes from Forest Green. He'll be gone by Halloween." Rather pathetic that they were right.
As far as I can tell it's my turn to be Watford manager in December, but I will be on holiday. Are any of you able to swap dates?
