Not quite up there with Kepa's cameo in the Carabao final in which he came on for the shoot out, didn't save a single penalty and then missed the decisive kick
Hats off to Kevin Trapp. With a couple mins left of extra time Rangers should’ve scored and yet he pulled off a worldy save from point blank range then saves a penalty in the shootout to help win them the cup.
A lot of ridiculing of Aaron Ramsey on here and I think you all need to regain some perspective... I think we shouldn't forget Aaron Ramsey won 3 FA Cups, scoring the winner in 2 of those finals, won the league in Italy and won the Coppa Italia. All of you would give your right arm for even a minuscule of that success at Spurs. Don’t worry, still posting on the Arsenal board if you care to take a gander. I reluctantly accepted our EL status after the game against you lot, so it is what it is. Won’t have anyone speaking about Ramsey as a serial bottler though when his track record shows otherwise.
Oh sorry, is that the FA Cup he's holding? I couldn't tell from all the way up here in 4th. My apologies.
Indeed it is an FA cup. Remind me how long it’s been since you last lifted one? Have you even seen Spurs win one in your lifetime?
I don't tend to frequent any other boards. I find that there's a lot more heat than light on offer. Increasingly, football fans seem to find it impossible to admit when they get a deserved defeat or their players fail to show up or their club's being badly run. Everyone's been the subject of some form of conspiracy. He bottled it last night. He looked like he was going to miss and he promptly did...and that was a back pass not a shot...slow, low and too near to the keeper. Compared to all of the other 9 penalties, it was a shocker. No matter what he may have done before, that was a ****ing dreadful penalty. If my eldest daughter had hit that, I'd not be surprised.
Utd willing to sell Wan-Bissaka in the summer. Not a chance they’ll get close to the fifty milly they paid. Looked a baller at Palace, looked like he never kicked a ball at Utd.
Your first paragraph is fair enough and I’ve seen some Arsenal fans do the same thing, which I don’t like. The facts are we had 4th in our hands and we’ve blown it. It’s not the fault of referees, or injuries (which no-one was complaining about when we beat Chelsea and Man Utd), or having no striker (which we chose), it’s fundamentally down to us not being good enough. As for your final two paragraphs, again, I don’t disagree and that penalty was awful, especially from such an experienced player who is renowned for having good technique. But the narrative I’m reading about his ‘Arsenal gene’ costing Rangers or ‘typical Arsenal bottler’ is nuts to me when he built up a reputation of being a big game player and stepping up in key moments. Yesterday wasn’t one of them, granted, but I dislike people rewriting history.
I have indeed. I was coming to the end of reception and had just learned how to wipe my own backside with a semblance of dignity Or so I am told.
I’ve seen my team get battered in two successive games, effectively ceding a Champions League spot to you lot, and I’ve just watched ex-Arsenal alumnus (manager and player) lose a European final. I’m still feeling irritable.
