Pondering the NL fight for PL 4th place over recent days,
it has IMHO shown the gulf in squad breadth/depth between
the current top 3, and the rest.
Spurs, and them lot,, have a decent best starting XI, but it
only takes injuries/bans to/for a couple of key players,
and the squad as a whole is not robust enough to prevent
a significant drop in performance due to it.
The current top 3 by contrast have managed to be
competitive this season in all competitions.
I don’t think it’s that bad
as the table currently stands if we managed to get something against Chelsea instead of giving them 6 points we would have swapped places by now.
That’s no gulf
Pretty sure there was a period between 2004-8 where the then-Sky Four routinely monopolised those spotsThe gulf is in the last line of my comment laid bare :
PL (current) : Citeh, Poool, Chelsky.
CL : Citeh (SF) , Poool (final) , Chelsky (QF) .
FA cup : Citeh (SF) , Poool (final) , Chelsky (final) .
League cup : Citeh (R4) , Poool (final) , Chelsky (final) .
Offhand I cannot remember the state of the England top league
being skewed as badly as that for a long time (if ever) .

We'll do our best to disrupt things over the next few years. I have a feeling that Arsenal or Chelsea will start to fall away from the top end of the PL and stay upper mid table for years to come (at best).
Rooney not looking at his fittest is he.
Not THAT fittestHe’s never really taken my fancy if I’m being honest…

At least he has a wife that helps him through these momentsThis has to be one of the greatest meltdowns in the history of the internet.

I think it's a fact that this time next year, we'll be far more worried abut Newcastle than Arsenal.
Apparently If a penalty is saved twice it should be retaken? Anyone know if that is true?

It would be a real shame if you lost to Leicester and Watford, too.As a Chelsea fan this is what concerns me most. We couldn't have gone away to Newcastle, Arsenal, Everton, Leeds, Villa, Man Utd and Tottenham at a better time and yet we're still scraping 3rd in the last week of the season.
City and LFC are just so far ahead and Newcastle/Tottenham are chasing our coattails.

Depends on how many of their players Saltypool want to tap up this summerWill Southampton bend over forwards or backwards tonight?
