I'm normally a fan of the ref, too. He's a bit strict, but he gets a lot right and he's consistent.

 

Seemed to me that on close review Lemar handles the ball first then the Milan player second. Very rare to see a call like that given that late in the game, especially against a home team.

Nothing that other teams haven't had to put up with. The difference is that when it happens to ManU it's suddenly a special case. I remember for years when SAF had it pretty much his own way at OT - and we all know how many dodgy decisions that encompassed - some foreign ref had the temerity to send one of his players off in a CL match. He went absolutely batshit crazy. You know, the sort of thing you are expected to put up with when it goes against you in favour of United (as it usually does). I can't remember too much about the actual foul, but I don't think it was an unreasonable decision anyway.

So basically no sympathy from me.

We have had worse. Sevilla away on a Thursday and Chelsea on the Saturday lunchtime game on Saturday

 

I think the majority of PL managers would quite happily see the Saturday lunchtime games binned.

 

That was just outrageous.

 

They're generally crap, too. Poor atmospheres and dull performances.

 

And ruin your day, since the match is done by three and at that point there's no point going out to do anything
