Tbf both Sky and BBC have been saying Agero has scored more goals than any other "Foreign" player and has the most hat tricks in PL history. No idea why TCM is going on about Dixie Dean and Jimmy Greaves.
Because history matters - The premier league is just the top flight of English football and the records of Greaves and Dean will probably never be beaten just because they did it before Sky and The Premier League existed doesn't make them any less important as far as I am concerned. I expect sky put all the goals before the premier in the Football League championship column as that was the top flight they even get given the same trophy that actual Champions used to get. I am sure there are at least 2 scots that scored over 200 goals, so Aguero is not even the tip scoring foreigner! And in any case I can go on about anything I like on here
I think that is why both companies stressed "the PL era", could be wrong though, they might be trying to re-write history
The latest Deloittes revenue table makes interesting reading. Barcelona a long way top on £741M , but their income has increased by £130M in 12 months whereas Real Madrid in second on £667M have seen an increase of just £2M. Utd's lead over the other English clubs is unsurprisingly narrowing, although it's Liverpool and Spurs who have seen big increases in revenue rather than City. Arsenal's income has stalled and they have the smallest income of the big six PL teams by some margin now (£60M less than Chelsea). English clubs occupy 6 of the top 11 places with 8 in the top 20.
Of course, this has led to "If we're the eighth richest club in the world why can't be beat Middlesbrough?" comments Would it be because teams don't throw piles of tenners at one another?
In unrelated news, Arthur recently missed a number of games due to a groin injury. Or gonorrhea. One or the other...
