Our chances of a miracle greatly increase if Troy Parrott starts up front ...shut up, Rory Allen and Neale Fenn, nobody asked you
We did well with 10-men actually and probably should have won it when Pepe hit the post in the second-half. However, we lost control after dominating the first 35 minutes. Their equaliser, fortuitous as it was, was definitely coming. We soaked up the pressure afterwards pretty well. Very frustrated with the ref's lack of consistency. Ayew committed 7 fouls and didn't get a single booking. Pepe and Maitland-Niles commit 2 fouls between them, yet they both get booked. Palace players were also going to ground with ease, and the referee was giving it their way every single time. Too influenced by the home crowd methinks. Horrible challenge from Aubameyang on Meyer, though. He didn't even need to make that tackle, so it was unnecessary all round. He's going to miss 3 crucial matches for us, meaning we'll be relying on Lacazette (who hasn't been scoring for us this season). We would have definitely lost that game under Emery, but still. Banter era not over yet...
I'm going to be harsh....well actually, more fair to be honest.....this was exactly what you were doing under Emery and too many referees were buying it then. I'm taking that you didn't think that Palace should have had a penalty? Hmmmmmm........
I'm assuming you're referring to Martinelli's 'challenge' on Zaha. No, I didn't think that was a penalty. Zaha, as he tends to, went to ground very easily. On that very rare occasion, the referee made the correct call.
What we need a dose of is:- a bit of City's skill,Liverpool's defence and Chelsea's luck!......and a ref wearing glasses!!!!!?
Sheffield Wednesday beat Leeds with two late goals Such a shame. If only Leeds had a pacy winger on the bench who could have stretched their defence, instead of waste his time so badly we recalled him from his loan...
Well,I was hoping.....but when Lucas and Son put their shots wide earlier,I thought, ok dear, 0-0 or 0-1,and not to us. Open goal give away too!
