Frenkie De Jong grabbed 3 goals and 3 assists all season, Barca must be cursing their scouts for not spotting the much cheaper Tielemans, right?

Is Llorente creative because he has a much higher assists/minutes played than anyone you've mentioned, as well as everyone else(other than KWP and GKN)?

Focusing on the numbers doesn't show you a full picture. Pochettino's midfielders have never been big on goals and assist, not because they're not creative but because they have different objectives. Schneiderlin kept the ball moving and both he and Wanyama won the ball back at Soton. Winks, Dembele, Sissoko and Dier have served the same purposes in our midfield. It's always been about aggression without the ball and control with it so we can work a good opportunity for the the attacking specialists ahead of them.

To be clear, I'm not saying Tielemans and Grealish couldn't fulfill the midfield roles we need, just that they won't be getting the same numbers that you're claiming makes them more creative when they play in different set ups. The 4 I mentioned are better suited to the aggression and physicality we need, whilst also being able to control the tempo and/or break past players like Dembele and Sissoko can(Kessie, less so admittedly). That's what I want our money spent on for midfield this summer.

Your two best players in previous seasons jumped ship to them. Your manager would do the same, mate.

I get it’s a tough pill to swallow but it’s the way the footballing world works, the likes of Barca and Real get whoever they want.

I know it's hard for you to understand but Klopp is building something here this is only phase 1 of the project. Phase 2 comes after our 2cl final appearance in a row. He loves fsg and fsg love him lalala

Frenkie still got more goals and assists than any of our CMs did <laugh>. He’s also in with a shout to be named in the UEFA team of the tournament after his displays. So yeah, I’m sure Barca are definitely cursing their scouts.

Poch’s CMs have been about physicality but we’ve often found times where that’s hindered us on occasions. We’ve been heavily reliant on Eriksen to create everything, when he doesn’t play our creativity levels drop horrendously. It’s why we need someone with a more creative edge to play behind him, to ensure the mantle isn’t always on Eriksen’s shoulders. We may not even have Eriksen next season either, which further adds emphasis on bringing more creativity to the side.

Back to Frenkie for a second, he ironically said he could’ve potentially joined us last summer, whilst we all know that Grealish himself expected to be a Spurs player this season. That certainly signals that Poch is looking for that creative spark in CM.
